So, I've been seeing this trope where the villain gets introduced, shows how powerful they are but when they get to meet the MC.

They have an inner dialogue on top of their heads that says.

"Am i going to lose? Me? The all-powerful?!"

"I guess i bit more than i could chew"

Or

"What a monster."

Mind you, the MC already finished his time skip training arc/nightmare training/near death but had an instant epiphany and they somehow acknowledge how weak and pathetic they are/flashback about a random girl/woman/person that he/she barely knew and asks "Who are you? Ah, i remember. It's X"

So kinda similar to the Worf effect but with the MC rather than a new threat.
