I am ace/gray-aro. I can read smut, but it generally doesn't do much for.

I include romantic relationships, plan to test them, and have new ones created during my story, because I understand partially the appeal.

But smut? I would probably never able to write anything beyond cuddling or hand holding.

Moral and mental support? Now, that's my love language.

We've had this discussion before. How the smut to not smut ratio isn't particularly bad. My issue isn't that. No, it's the fact that I find so many novels with good concepts that appeal to me, only to look at the tags, and BAM!!! Smut. Why are all you smut authors so creative? Be boring. Be lame. Leave some for the people who don't like romance. Please.

Sorry, romance is integral to the process for me. *shrug* Though to be clear, I don't do smut, I use fade to black. Admittedly, after some flirting and creating some suggestions as to what is going to be going on.

The kernel of a story generally begins with a scene in my head and defining the interaction of two characters. Romantic possibilities and developing relationships make my brain happy, so building out from there is the easy path for me. Saving effort here lets me spend more energy on more difficult things.

Um, on the possible plus side, I build happy and healthy relationships, I do not like drama and bad communication in my romance. I got sick and tired of that stuff from both anime and sitcoms.

Big reason is that the biggest alternates to SH often do not allow or delete smut, such as RR.
Anyways, you can use the search filter to exclude smut tag, and find things easier.

I love the irony of us forum people calling this place Smuthub when it's the tamest Smut site I know. Places like AO3 would blow their mind.
