Small presses? Like where? I don't know much about this stuff. I am just writing for fun. Like I got a idea, why not write it down? That's how I started. So I don't know a shit.

So should I decline it? They said I can get non exclusive contract as much as I want. And I can also contract with others but need to keep the price same. Something like that.

So should I decline it or not? They said I can get contracts from others also if I choose non exclusive as I get to keep the right. But the price should be same or something like that.
Ok let me explain. If you want you can get a nonexclusive contract webnovel/ goodnovel and with others website or company because you will have the full rights. But, but in none exclusive they will only take 50% earning that you earned from that website.

I don't know about the other websites. But here what webnovel do

In webnovel if you go exclusive contract they will publish your book and help you reach a wider range of readers. Like a website have 1m readers they will help your atleast reach your book to 500k readers. And they will will have like 60 to 70% of the right.

Like some company like your book and they wants to make movie they will approach webnovel not you . But you will still get money. Some point you book become very popular and webnovel decided or you said them you wants to release you book in other languages they will translated the book and you will get they royalty from that .

And now let's talk with the contract invitation. It's not work like that. Like goodnovel have Invite you to join in their platform ( it's just a invitation not a contract offer) they will say you to publish your book in their website and give you a little boost if your book start getting popular than they will sent you the real contract. This is also same for other websites.

But if you publishing already in webnovel and they sent you a contract offer in email or by a system massage then you can choose which contract you want.

Yeah they sent me contract in mail. And the agreement paper was huge with all the terms and conditions and they are waiting for my signature. And it is non exclusive contract. I guess I will discuss with them more about the terms and conditions and then decide what to do. Thanks. :)

Look, don't listen to this swordmaster guy. He is playing the role of a devil's advocate. As I said before, look into another thread. It's exactly like yours. It's called "Feedback on Other Platforms". The thing is, if you look at this situation at least a little bit, you will notice that the only people who talk about webnovel and similar sites in a positive way are their top authors and 'editors'. This 'swordmaster' may as well be a hired guy. He made an account a few days ago and only has a few messages. As people from webnovel, and goodnovel, don't care about the rules of a platform, it might be true. They use every method to promote their sites. They are self-promoting and trying to 'steal' novels. WebNovel has a VERY bad reputation, and it's for a reason. It's not like people suddenly started cursing them from out of nowhere. If you need something else to believe me instead of this guy, okay.

Here's my personal experience.
They offered a contract to me. But after I visited their discord and got some "help" there... I asked two questions. My first question wasn't answered at all. The other one was answered with something like this: "You are so stupid, go upstairs a few floors and walk out of the window." Newbie helpers who might as well work with underage authors wrote: "go k**l yourself" as an answer... Judge this yourself.

Perhaps it's only happened to me? I don't know. What I do know, that they are understaffed, and there is NO service there. They only help their top authors, and they don't give a shit about bottom-ranking authors. There is a rumor that they use bots to increase views. Also, your novel will be stolen by aggregator sites, even if it isn't popular. Also, the phrase: "They will keep 60-70% of rights." It's a freaking scam! What is a 60%? Who decides it? Don't sign the contract with sites that have a murky reputation. Use different sites for publicity without signing contracts. And later on, you will be able to decide what to do.

Oh thanks for the heads up. I will be careful. And well I am not rushing anyways as I mainly write as a hobby. I guess I will take it slowly.

Yes, they do send through their own system. Doesn't change the fact that they offer contracts to everyone.
Yeah but they send non-exclusive ones. Jus join the official discord and talk with thousands of writers who still haven't got a contract

Just looking at goodnovel a lot of stuff gives me the whiff of fraud. Some of their novels have thousands of reviews, yet looking at the reviews 90% of them say something along the lines of "good book", a very short and general comment that never mentions the name of the book or what they liked about it. Feels fake to me.

I have been offered by these contracts from Web Novel and Good Novel recently and I also found it suspicious so I researched first.

And based on these and in my sole opinion, an author can be legitimately paid by providing a quality and popularity which your story somehow will met their criterion.

Someone can say that your stories can be the key to obtaining a contract and there is no harm to read those first but do try to trust your instincts after all.

I just started writing my first novel in webnovel. And from there a editor from a website called goodnovel offered me for a contract. So he said my book has potential and told me to submit it in there website and request for contract. And within 1 to 2 weeks I actually got an agreement paper which just need my signature. But the terms and conditions feel like it mostly contain their interest. And I am not sure if this goodnovel is really legit. I heard scribblehub has a frndly community so I came here to seek some guidance from the people who already have experience. I would highly appreciate if I can get some reply fast as I need to reply to the editor from gdnovel.
Never accept, that company will bend you over and rail you until you can't give them anymore content.

That Goodnovel sounds just as sketchy.
