I second this. My first novel is basically a (unintentional) copy now that I look back at it.

I third it, my unpublished first novel is just an alternative Warhammer future now that I look back at it. The world building just got so big for me it ended up frying my brain lol.

The next step is emulation, aka copy others.

In all seriousness just do what I'm doing. Write a novel based on the stories you like, and add your own little twist. Then do that again. Then write a completely original story that you don't upload yet when some random four-parter you foolishly chose to do, and don't know how to finish starts pissing you off enough to make you regret the whole thing.

Simple.

If you're agonizing over not being good at storytelling, then you have an idea of what you want to do. Post some bullet points about what's unique about what you're trying to write, and then get some of the more experienced forum users to give feedback, one of the threads right now has a guy who wants to give people harsh feedback, get him to look at what you have.

hmm,..... that might work....but how can i bring his attention to my work because i really don't this guy ><...

Although i haven't read your work but i think even though you call it copy.... you didn't do intentionally and maybe you and that author had same concept.. cheer up >-<


wow.... you guys are really super nice... and i really appreciated all of your comments and advice. I am really glad i choose to vent on this forums.. i will surely follow some of ya'll advice and will seriously complete my work... and Thank you for listening to this lazy one.. TT-TT..

I will support your attempt at making a novel. Just try to stay away from the "I can'ts". Saying I can't do this, or I can't do that isn't conducive to doing anything. The moment you say "I can't", you have created your own finish line. Start with writing anything. I won't believe that your brain is a blank space with no creativity inside either, so find that new document button and start writing! Once you get past the initial block I am sure you will have loads of fun!

You could look to my first story as an "I can do it" moment. If/when I publish, there will likely be changes made for coherency's sake.

One person dropped it and left a review bomb but they did so without giving the story a chance to coalesce.
