I mean what you said is true but there are few days Or moments where motivation just goes down. Especially when newly uploaded chapter have very less views. About the prologue I definitely took the advice and followed it by revising my chapter 1 and so on.
If you ever feel like you don't want to write, but at the same time you want to, then you better find a way to motivate yourself to write. That could either be listening to musics that gives you inspirations of scenes in your story, watching videos, getting tips and tricks, or better yet, reading the comments of your works!

I swear, your reader is your motivation.

Then don't listen when writing.

I did that many times. Whenever I was writing, I'd turn off the music if it's bothering my work. But sometimes, writing while listening to musics can pump some motivation in me and give me inspirations, scenes to write, based on the song's mood.

I tend to listen to Dead Man Walking whenever I write an action chapter. And when it's about a character having anxiety, then I'd play a Cry of Fear OST named Anxiety. Good melodies for angst people.
When I'm writing comedy, I'd go around and watch videos about people getting humiliated and/or absurd moments where funny things happen.
And I took a different approach when I'm describing a horror scene, either psychological or terror, by watching horror games playthroughs like Minecraft horror mods or ARGs.

Lately, I've been following this guy named Rod in his Minecraft horror mods endeavour. His videos are one rabbit hole of psychological horror inspirations because he covers mods like The Broken Script and (a semi-arg scripted horro named) Abandoned.

If it's a fanfic that I'm writing, then for character sheets, I'd just look at the source material. Better yet, if it's a game, then I'd just play the game.
For example: The Grave/Digger fanfic that I've just wrote is filled with various POVs of the victims of the underground war that takes place in the game Grave/Digger.

That's actually a good idea, I'll try watching horror videos when I am writing horror.

Do be specific about what kind of horror you are looking for.

Psychological horror and regular horror is different.

One utilizes terror, while the other is focused mainly on the threat that makes itself known.

I recommend watching this two videos to get a good grasp about the two genres.

This one is about a
Respawn Machine that exists in the game

While this one is about
Aliens, but smart. And the game makes sure that players note that the Aliens are sentient and threatening

Thank you, man, I didn't expect you to find the links for me. I am more interested in building horror atmosphere for now.

Oh, hey! That reminds me of something. So, years ago, I would take walks in the middle of the night in the neighborhood. That darkness and silence? Yeesh, that does wonders to the imagination. Like, scary imagination. That could also kickstart your creative juices too.

Sometimes, a neighbor will offers you a cigarette. Ignore them. They belongs to a different dimension.

recommend chugging monster energy (original green) until your p!ss looks like flourescent green antifreeze.
for my money's worth, there's no greater thing than what looks like pee that will glow under a ultraviolet light.

I second this! Nothing is better for writing those epic fight scenes than having your heart hitting 180 BPM for two hours straight,

Nothing legal anyway.

Surely, nothing will go wrong if you constantly abuse this over the next 6 months. Let's start you off slow at 4 cans a day, and move you up to some big boy numbers by next week.

How to stay motivated to write? I am a new writer and my work is also very new, I am aware of the fact that most web novels don't take off if they don't have at least 50 chapter or so. But still the lack fo engagement and declining views are very demotivating. So I want to know how did you guys finish your first novel despite these feelings. Ignore my broken English as it is not my first language.
If you are demotivated by the interactions that you have on your book, then maybe I should just give up writing.

(in case my sarcasm doesn't carry over through my comment) You are doing great. Just keep doing what you are doing and publish your chapters consistently and you'll be fine.

Lol, I can recount countless incidents. Like when my heart dropped as I saw a demon sitting beside me, but then I realised those are the clothes that I didn't fold.

No probs.

Been a lover of horror and gore. If you need sources for those, I'll be more than eager to help.
