ever see the movie "Pulp Fiction" ?
then you'll get this (adjusted) quote.

"You write through that sh!t"

just... keep writing.

now, to help you philosophically understand this.
"Airborne" Rangers. You know, special forces.
The guys that jump out of perfectly good airplanes with knives in their teeth.
Them.
I think about everyone knows, their motto is: "Do or die".

you need to understand this, and fully.
to them? That is *not* just a motto.
A bumper sticker. A punchline.

to them? Its a statement of *fact*.

seriously.
you don't need to be a special forces commando, to put this powerful feature to work in your own life.
all you have to do, is decide:
"You know what? That's it. I will keep writing, until I make it. or until I die. that's it."
Didn't expect a Paratrooper corps refrence but hell yeah. Very good motivation if you ask me.

How to stay motivated to write? I am a new writer and my work is also very new, I am aware of the fact that most web novels don't take off if they don't have at least 50 chapter or so. But still the lack fo engagement and declining views are very demotivating. So I want to know how did you guys finish your first novel despite these feelings. Ignore my broken English as it is not my first language.
As new writer myself, i don't care anymore even no one read my writing, the fact that from writing i manage to get new knowledge about this literature art, get to know new people around here and able to vent my ideas on writing, i'm pretty satisfied.

I just finished my first book (ad finem amore) today, now just place it on schedule for uploading, and learning what best time for uploading based on traffic.

The point is, if you focus on the process, you'll be enjoying more when you writing.

Well, at least that's what i do :blob_popcorn:

1. All books suffer diminishing returns, as people check it out and choose to read.
2. Burnout can happen at anytime, either quit, or push through it.
3. Don't write for the engagement, and you'll get engagement.
4. Stack up chapters and be ahead of your schedule.

if you simply refuse to quit, logically there can only be two outcomes.
you succeed in your mission, or, you die trying.
there is no third option.

seriously.

there is no... "within reason"
there is no... "but this just isn't practical."
there is no... "see, the cost doesn't justify the..."

do or die. WHATEVER it is.
there is no, within reason. You do anything it takes.
if practical worked? Everyone would be a writer.
the cost? whatever it costs.

It applies? To e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.

I have access to the persistence, usually reserved only for the truly demented.

think about it. If you apply this? Ten years from now, people will be asking *you*.
how do I do this, writing that.
This sounds more like a sergeant motivating his trainees? idk military ranks. But it Thank you :).

Drink water and keep writing. Sometimes you're just dehydrated.
recommend chugging monster energy (original green) until your p!ss looks like flourescent green antifreeze.
for my money's worth, there's no greater thing than what looks like pee that will glow under a ultraviolet light.

Originally. What are your reasons now?
still the same reasons, but trying to fix what I wrote has kind of pushed me into a loop? I re-write-> upload ->re-write, and the cycle repeats. Idk if why this is specifically affecting me. idk i am not good at explaining.

Alright. So you want to show off your world and story while also fixing your attention span, but you included fixing your story too.

Here's the thing that bugs me. You already showed off your world. The story exists. Your attention is clearly here, on this website, or else we wouldn't be seeing so much of ya. And fixing your story has indeed turned into an ouroboros; erasing what you wrote to replace it with something you consider better. Sounds like you've accomplished your goals, but I am seeing you removing your written work because others are telling you to do so. That is what bugs me; is this your story or theirs? You wanna share your world, but you're omitting features of it in favor of making it sensational. Don't you think that might be why you're stuck in a loop? That you don't feel that same motivation because what you wanted to write is now being replaced by what others tell you to write?

Maybe I'm dead wrong. Don't decide on it today, just think about that.

You need to filter feedback more selectively, dude. You can differentiate between taste criticism (whether I liked this story or not) and technical criticism (such as pacing, prose, narrative style, POV, etc).

Generally, taste criticism isn't helpful if you're trying to build a world that aligns with your artistic vision.

But if you want a story that is more likely to become popular, criticism of taste can be considered more carefully.

On the other hand, technical criticism can help you refine your narrative to make it more readable and literary.

You are the author. You own your story.

Ah, you're a regional neighbor.

Well, like all others say here, think why you write, and base your motivation from there. The hobby we picked is full of downs, and only a few ups, so you gotta stand your ground.

Throw useless feedback to the trash where they belong.
