H: At this point we're honestly wondering if we should even bother making a better second draft using what people have said, or if we should take the hint from all the mockery and just fuck off.

Yeah your prices are high, but this isn't necessarily trashing you directly any more.

You see, this is what they call 'Hijacking a Thread' and anything beyond your reply saying you would consider changing your model is just normal forum shenanigans, so pay it no mind.

Redo your pricing, show your previous work that can justify that kind of pricing, then repost. We will flame you again, but will probably say what sounds more reasonable then as well.

Nothing is free you know, but you are getting our highly valuable, top tier services for the price of some heckling.

I don't think you are wrong for offering your services, just the way you explained them was a little... weird. "Hello, we like money" is the exact quote (replace we with I) that Mr Krabs actually uses in that episode. Sorry for making that joke, but it fit so well.

I think it's totally fine to charge people. Some people want their ideas translated into a story but are either unable or unwilling to do it themselves, so why not offer to write stories for them? It sounds quite logical.

Just keep at it. I seriously wish you all the best. Trying to build something is never wrong; at worst, you have wasted a couple of hours. Just... don't expect too much.

C: Regarding IP ownership? Bearing in mind that we're not a lawyer, the commissioner probably keeps rights to characters, while we keep setting rights (unless the commissioner supplies a setting). We are no longer offering commissioned fanfiction.

If the only financial transaction is between the person hiring your services and you, then ownership of new characters should be defined at the time of the contract being signed.
Ownership of original characters is assumed to be transferred for the duration of the project, and then to be returned, UNLESS there is a specific clause (agreed to by both parties) otherwise (i.e. if you kill off this character, the corpse is yours to reanimate later or bury or whatever - but if you kill off THAT character, you will be hunted down and beaten unless they are somehow restored to full life by the end of the project)
Actually, it's quite adorable. Fluttershy is tired of her bothersome life as a pony and longs to become an anime-star, and a witch is willing to help her, but for a price. It's a loony, crazy, laugh-out-loud ripoff of "The Little Mermaid" in spots. ? ?
You do know the original story of "The Little Mermaid" is a gut-wrenching tragedy (kids were assumed to be tougher back in Hans Christian Anderson's day!).

Look, your hearts might be in the right place, but this might not be the venue for what you're trying to accomplish, that's all.
This is "authors general"
You're essentially telling three-star master chefs here how you're willing to make spaghetti.
