Same, MTL are much better nowadays. What SoL are you reading rn? Or any recommendations. It is hard to find good ones in this economy.

Currently, I caught up with Brother Dao - the acting one - its mtl version.
I think my top one has to be this one "重回1982小渔村". Maybe some English readers know it too, I'm not sure, since this story kinda dominated qidian's top list for a while. Nothing fancy, just a guy died and went back in time, into his younger body, real world, no superpower (unless his extreme luck counts as one). The story is about him rebuilding his life in a fishing village, so a lot of fish.

I'm reading (re-reading, actually) "美食:随机摆摊,顾客追我十条街". This is a cooking story, and a bit of a silly one. A guy received a system that gave him cooking skill and quests to set up a food stall that changed location and menu every week. Kinda get repetitive after 300 chapters, but it's a relaxing read so I come back to it from time to time.

Thank you, but I'm not going to change a scene that define the character like that. I'll add details to clarify things or to show more things if readers complain though.

I'm not really upset about it anymore, it just got me since it was the first thing I read after waking up.
I think you might have misunderstood what I meant. I wasn't talking about changing the scene. Keep the scene however it is that you wrote it.
I meant if you wanted to quote or paraphrase my suggested response to the comment, you would be encouraged to change what I said to suit your needs. I do apologize for any confusion that may have occurred as a result of me not being clear in my intent originally.

P.S.
I also love characters and narrative with depth, realism, and consequences that matter; so I'm also fully in support of you basically telling that commenter (politely) to go fuck off.

I don't get why you are this triggered about a stupid comment, especially if you realize and know it to be stupid? Honestly, I get hundreds of comments like that, especially on other sites with a way more toxic readership.

The way you cope and justify yourself this hard is very strange.

1. He is entitled to his opinion, even if it sucks, even if the objective reader wouldn't assume that.
2. Why are you this angry about it?
3. You will NEVER be able to appeal to all readers. Some want crazy psycho mc's who kill everyone, others want scheming mc's, while others want someone who forgives others and tries to aim for a peaceful solution.

If someone leaves behind crazy comments, especially if he's angry, view it as a compliment because that person is obviously at least on some level emotionally invested in your story. If the reader doesn't care about the story, he will simply drop it. Such a comment is often made in disappointment because he disagrees with the MC's choice and wishes for another solution.
