If anyone actually recognizes any of these games we are now friends
All but one of them.
I've played most of the Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish, and Pajama Sam games.

Which would make my list, along with Sim City 4, Bejeweled 2, Bejeweled Twist, Plants vs. Zombies (The original, none of the garbage after the EA buyout), Insaniquarium, and Lego Rock Raiders.

Well… that last one was brought back by Manic Miners.

Candy Crush.

It was my obsession for almost two years and my score was getting really high - then it would repeatedly ask me for money if I wanted to get to the "next level", and it suddenly hit me that this was just a big scam. I would love to play a mobile phone game one time where I absolutely never, ever need to give anyone money. *^^*

Pokemon. Eventually felt too basic and easy so I started making my own game instead.

Call of Duty games.
Could never understand why the PVP became as popular as it is.
Pokemon. But that's probably because new pokemon games are just dogshit instead of me growing out of them.
The last good one to me was Emerald. Everything was trash afterwards. Any Pokemon past Emerald doesn't exist to me.
Borderlands. Jokes and humor were good in the beginning when I was a teen, but now it just doesn't hit the same.
Never could get into them. Not even the first one.
I LOVE EU4....but not base game. I always play it heavily modded or with the settings where the entire world is populated with randomly placed and fictional countries. I once fought a 45-year long war against the Shu Empire for control of Eastern Canada. Never could get interested in Stellaris. Just....too many moving parts.
Didn't like the last one at all. Didn't finish the campaign, just watched vids for it. DESPISE how they got rid of Cortana, and also just....dislike everything about how they did Cortana and the AI revolt altogether. Hell, to me Halo 4 wasn't even that good. It wasn't bad...but not memorable. Didn't care for The Didact as a main antagonist. Halo 5 was just not fun, the campaign just didn't excite me. I was also pissed that Locke, a brand new Spartan or at least far newer than John-117, was able to fight Master Chief into somewhat of a standstill even though Chief was beginning to get the edge over him in the end during their brief melee clash cutscene.

In the end, the last good HALO's for me were Reach and ODST. My two favorites of all time, neither of which involved the main characters of the series coincidentally enough.

Pokemon. I played Sun back when it came out and I just couldn't put up with the handholding and constant barrage of dialogue that assumed I was like, six years old. I've wanted to try getting back into the mainline games but the issues I've heard about the latest 2 generations have still pushed me away from it.

Well, at least I still have the Mystery Dungeon games in my backlog.

For Pokemon it's time to try modhacks!

Anyhoo, The Sims. After stuff like Rimworld and other Dwarf Fortress inspired games, I can't just sit around and do nothing. I need random events to popup and give a challenge.
Also, space games. I was obsessed with them when I was smol. Now I avoid them since people think a good space game equals large swats of emptiness. No! It's SPACE!!!! with fantasy technobable RPG! That is what makes a good space game!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oddly enough, I started to like RPGmaker games when I had avoided them like the plague. Stuff like Black Souls, Look Outside, LonaRPG, etc.

I kinda grew out of most major competitive games (Fortnite, Overwatch, Call of Duty, etc) cuz it was making me miserable to play them. Winning didn't feel very satisfying or fun and losing felt deeply demoralizing. My friends weren't ever interested in playing with me, either, so I was basically just feeding the egos of other players.

The only competitive games I play these days are against friends in Fistful of Frags or that new Battlefield beta cuz I've been playing BF since at least 1943 back in the PS3. In general, though, most of my time is on co-op games like Helldivers 2 or the Hoyo gachas (Genshin and Zenless).

I'm gonna join the trend and say MMOs are definitely a genre I've basically completely fallen out of love with. WoW butchered the world, and lore so badly that I don't even really like the IP anymore, just the memories. XIV was great till it again it wasn't, the butchering wasn't as hard but damn the gameplay can not make up for even a slightly mediocre story. I've kinda just been in a rut with gaming in general though. Clair Obscur is about the only thing that really had me put a lot of hours into it, and even then I took a lot of breaks in between it. That Donkey Kong Game looks pretty good but I don't want to spend almost 1000 dollars for just 1 game.

Animal Crossing. I used to love it as a kid, but one day someone in my family who suffers from depression got addicted to the game, and now I can't play it without remembering that person and their suffering.
