Games you grew out of?

I loved the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games when I was a kid. I can't tell you how many times I rented THPS3 from the local Blockbuster. Soooo many summer days spent playing that while my parents were at work and couldn't regulate my gaming time. I remember going to my grandma's house for Christmas when I was six, and my cousin let me play the first game on his N64. I had never played anything like it, and I was completely captivated.

Well, I just downloaded the THPS 1+2 Collection on my PS5 (it was free of PS+ a while ago), did the tutorial, played for about half an hour, and then deleted it. I don't know what's changed other than my age, but I literally did not have any fun at all while playing it, and that's more than a little depressing. I feel like I've lost part of my childhood self, you know?

What about you? Are there any games you loved as a kid, but completely lost interest in when you got older?

Pokemon. But that's probably because new pokemon games are just dogshit instead of me growing out of them.
Dr. AdamGuy prescribes two hours of Palworld every day. Dr. AdamGuy would like to make it clear that he was never a Pokemon fan, but he became obsessed with Palworld for at least a month when he first played it on early access via Gamepass. Dr. AdamGuy is also legally required to tell you that he is not a certified doctor, but he considers that to be a point in his favor, if anything.

Starcraft, Warcraft and Red Alert 2. Pretty much hone my psychological and intelligence gathering skills while growing up.

Borderlands. Jokes and humor were good in the beginning when I was a teen, but now it just doesn't hit the same.

Anything online. I was a big CoD, then LoL player. I totally dropped anything online related and I am unwilling to ever engage with them ever again.

They are not games but chores, and instead of entertaining they just make you hate everything even if you are winning.

Anyone disagreeing, go and do your dailies before you lose progress in your battlepass and miss out on your first win bonus instead of being here.

MMOs. I dropped em all. Got tired of the Skinner box Treadmill. I had played them since 2000.

I quit after playing Minecraft and I liked the fact that the things I did actually meant something. And I preferred the more fair "break block gets block" instead of killing a hundred mobs for ten quest items.

I still like the older versions, but every newer cod, Battlefield and so on just sucks tbh.

First Person Shooter/POV Games (e.g. CSGO). It's hard for me to enjoy them since I get massive headaches and motion sickness every time I play these kind of games. I eventually grew out of them.

Wait, anything online? Then how are you on SH? It is game time 24/7 here. :blob_hmm_two:

Jokes aside, I’ve given up online myself. Given up mobile games aside from the pay once and play.

Those games are very predatory and offers nothing of actual value. You could be playing many other games.

Factorio, EU4, Stellaris and similar games are games I've grown out of in the last 5 years.

In fact, the older I get (old man at 31 atm) - the less I enjoy games.

Even MMOs... Old School Runescape, GW1, GW2...

Stellaris. Could no longer invest days into a single game and then the updates they made also changed the game into something I didn't enjoy at all. Also hard to believe that game is only 9 years old...

Towns. It was abandonware to begin with, but, man, I sunk like 260+ hours into this game. Voxel-based city builder where you have to deal with your city being on top of a dungeon. Eventually, I stopped playing as it would get ridiculous once a certain level was reached.

I played a lot of Pokémon during my childhood, from Red and Silver to Ruby, but I stopped playing after Emerald. I still play Digimon and Super Robot Wars if there's a new one.

Then there were the days of GTA: San Andreas, though I didn't play the newer ones as much.

Since my college days and up until now, I’ve preferred RPGs and sandbox games like Star Wars: KOTOR, Stellaris, Dragon Age, Dragon's Dogma, and Baldur’s Gate. However, I think I’ve lost interest in Dragon Age now. The first one, though, was a masterpiece.
