Post more chapters. More chapters mean more readers. Most readers only read a story after it has like 50 chapters. Too many stories are dropped early by the author.

SH meta is stories with bingeable chapters.

If you are aiming for views, the solution is do what everyone above said, because Its not a a one solution situation.

And then after couple of months, you check the views again and voila! Its still not going like you wished for!
Why? Because your story doesnt hit the popular tags! Muahahaha!

Good writing/story is not the main thing anymore, its all about algorithm. Welcome to capitalism
Heck, when i begin writing 6 month ago i dont even know what a litRPG is. I should've put that sucker also on my story.

Cope harder. Or lower your expectations. Your choice.

You do realize we are in SH and not RR right? SH don't have algorithms that punishes casual authors and newbies.

On the SH platform, engagement is largely determined by visibility. It means that readers' preferences are the most influential. They see stories they enjoy.

Therefore, beautiful cover + captivating synopsis + popular genres + and regular releases are common strategies for promoting fiction here. :blob_melt:

That's the best part about SH. The readers here have broad preference. There are audiences for stories of all kind here, not just limited to litRPG.

Here we have two kinds of readers: One suffering from number burnout who will read plenty of things and other looking for something only SH can offer (degenerate stuffs) because of the site less strict content guidelines compared to others.

The latest updates is where you will get most of your readers from. Don't rely on trending because only the top three of trending give you a significant boost. It also attract trolls to your story who will mass downrate it.

In some cases where you are Asian and your story is written in they style of Asian novels, they will mass-report your story as translations and make the site take it down. Contact the site administrator @Tony to remove the troll ratings and false claims through [email protected]

Most readers is a mobile user and have to scroll to see trending 4 to 9. If your story is trending no. 10 it might as well not be trending.

Therefore, you have to combine all approach to increase your visibility in the latest update. And don't think just because you have a clickable cover, decent synopsis, popular genres, and regular is enough to make readers click the add to reading list and stay.

Your story must also be good. I'm not saying your writing quality will need to be flawless. I'm saying you must give readers a reason to continue reading your story. Hooking them is one thing. Preventing them from escaping is another.

How do you know if you do things right? Look at your readers count. Note how many of your readers dropped your story.

If the rate is unsustainable, ask for yourself. What is wrong with the story? Why are my readers no longer interested in it?

This usually happen because somewhere in the story, you make a narrative betrayal. Or the story and the synopsis don't align. Readers expect a story about X. You give them Y.

The usual suspects🧃
Forgot about the third kind of readers: people following the authors they worship moving from other platform to here. They won't interact with anyone else or anything else in the site unless commanded. You can ignore them.

Well, promotion is an activity to attract the attention of customers (potential readers). To make them loyal customers involves product service (story content and storytelling).

Here's the problem, every seller has a product, but not every product is good. You may have story content, but the storytelling may not be comfortable for casual readers. That's why there is a feedback section... to evaluate the quality of the story.

Ultimately, I think a popular story is a combination of three factors that meet:

Effective promotion + interesting story content + storytelling that is comfortable for casual readers.

Well, why I use casual readers as an indicator... because they are the largest population in the reader segment, they are looking for light entertainment.

Unlike niche readers who seek literary value (their population is very small).

In short, your story doesn't have to be high literary value to be popular, just creative writing that is easy to read and entertaining for casual readers.
