Originally I was happily writing FanFiction but recently the links of donation got removed from the websites plus there is lack of visibility so like any person I did the most simple thing I look at my future plans and convert them original story and start writing them the issue is I have no idea if I could even complete them and should I even get the donation for the work which I am not sure to complete then the main issue is the two novels I have started have complete opposite to each other one would be easy to complete but does not have any IP other one have IP as a Battleship but I have no idea how would I able to end so I do not know how to proceed forward and what should I do with my fan fictions as they have also not been complete plus new ideas keep popping up

Dunno what to tell you,

Every original authors here are struggling with writing their world from scratch.
And yet, we still had to fight for visibility against giant and popular IP names? in a amateur novel sites?

Sorry, but i think not many that can pity you here, since being complacent with using shortcuts for years is your own choice.

Welp anyway, welcome to characters building, worldbuilding, and lore building.

(And yes, please use punctuation)

Practice by writing stories based on books that already become public domain like Dracula. You are not writing a Dracula fanfiction because the IP is free to use.

Get some ADHD medication and rethink your choices.

And start using punctuation.

Every fanfiction is either fix-it or wish-fulfilment. I filtered them out from the main site because of that. If I want to read fanfiction, I will go to Ao3 or FFn.

Readers go to writing sites for the kind of stories they like. Smut for SH, LitRPG for RR. You don't have to fight for visibility if your story is optimized for the platform.

Don't forget Tapas for romance and WN for Xianxia.

Nuh-uh, i think that's something that mostly authors knows because they need to distribute their works, not casual readers especially beginners.

We still have to share trending pages with fanfics everywhere.
*brb checking front page.

See? No.3 is a fanfic, and more fanfics on top 40.

Dunno, but i feel like if this is a community bike race, someone deliberately use a ducati.

SH once considered blacklisting FanFics from trending pages.

First order of business I think is to find out what "original" means. "Convert [from fan fiction] to original" sounds like you might be unclear on the concept.
Take heart, little camper. You're not alone.
I know a bunch of you guys are all happy and kind of breaking your arms patting yourself on the back.
"Why, we put a stop to thing X."
(hitch up belt, *spit* for dramatic emphasis)

have you really? or have you just created a bigger problem. Much like prohibition took things from bad to worse.
"how do I convert fan fiction to legal"
Character STARSCREAM is going to become character PLANETYELL
the word AUTOBOT will become MATICMECHA
etc
etc
etc

then? back *up* goes the Patreon links, and the fanfic bucks roll right back in.
there will be some seedy discord link, with a list of search/replace terms.
all you're doing? is turning "fanfic authors" into "successful professional writers, who work on commission"

Good, writers should get paid for their work instead of relying on established big names to get famous and trying to earn dubiously hoping the corpos overlook them. And if they get sued by Disney/etc for plagiarism that's their problem and not the website's.

I have a fiction in the works that's an original monster hunter. It could be attacked for being too much like certain established IP. But the corpos don't own neither genres or trope. Making all this fanfiction for years has simply fed the corporate IP machine in defacto culturally walling off entire subsets of original fiction.

So yeah, I'm fine with this 'problem'. I'll pat myself on the back so hard that I split myself in two. And I didn't even do nuffin about it.

My fiction that's an original vampire and werewolf romance got attacked for being too much like certain established IP so I went the Fifty Shades of Grey way.

I don't understand the problem. Just pull an ending out of nowhere. It's an ending not the bulk of the story.

If you keep writing like this, then it will get in the way of getting money for your original. With fanfiction readers have an established world building to get back to. Original works have to establish one, but it's hard to understand if you write without punctuation.

First, try not to get a copyright claim since most stories are generally inspired by others.

If I want to turn that novel into an original, it depends on the novel. For example, if it's an overly constructed novel, I would replace some characters and change the setting a little.
