doubts about focusing solely on translation

Lately I've been having doubts about my work, as I've found it difficult to translate coherently into English. So I wondered if I should focus solely on my translation or if I should keep the original Spanish version on another platform just in case? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

If your english is still very rough, then yeah, sticking with Spanish and moving to a different platform might be the better choice.

If you’re decent at it, though, it can still work. Just don’t be surprised if you end up rewriting things two or three times as you’ll keep spotting translation mistakes as you go.

I tried doing a Japanese version using AI, but it only got less than 1k views, and I couldn’t even tell where the translation was going wrong since… well, I’m basically blind when it comes to Japanese.

Academic institutions use a different and more capable detector but even that is not consistently accurate. The ones you can use freely online are simply unreliable at best.

I can’t imagine how frustrating that must be — translating into a language that’s so structurally different from your own, putting in all that real effort, and then still getting told your work is AI-made or derivative.


I don’t usually write on paper either; I do almost everything on my phone. If it already feels pretty stifling for me sometimes, I can’t even imagine how difficult it is doing it the traditional way.

Only if it's a direct translation tho. I noticed that when I started translating one of my older novels, because I wish to post it here.
The original English works, translated back into German, also come off this way. It's hilarious.
