cats are the best, but I'd like to see a waterbear just for fun
Agreed! Cats are the best. Actually, this is the first time I heard about a waterbear. I had to Google that, I hope you get to see it one day.

I don't have a pet, but I have a freeloader. There is a gecko somewhere in my room, hissing every night. When I catch it, I'll put it in a box and throw the box into the river.

So, you have a free gecko as a pet... wait, are you serious about throwing that box into the river? Maybe that hissing voice is just your nightmare? Honestly, even I am a little scared of geckos...
I have a dog, a spider and Mark
EDIT: Oh, also @BernKatstel. Although I haven't been feeding her lately and she has turned half-feral.
You have all of the cool pets: A dog, a cat (unfed and half-feral), a spider. But, just a little curious, who's Mark?

Hey, so, as the title said, what kind of pet do you have? If you have one, that is. If not, what kind of cool (cute) creature would you like to have as a companion? I like cats, dogs are cute too, I guess.

So, I stole this image from Reddit and this reminded me of pets. Do you think this could be true or this is just an usual make believe fact?

Also, speaking of companions, there is always this animal mascot type of character in many fantasy themed stories. For example, a cat familiar for witches, or a flying fluffy (psychopathic) pet for magical girls. I always thought that was so because otherwise the protagonist would be a little lonely, or maybe that was for monologue purpose. Like they talk to their companions about almost everything.
We have 4 cats…

That's wonderful. Having just one cat is already awesome enough, and you have four of them. They don't give you too much trouble, do they? We are talking about cats here after all. Please, give each of them a belly rub on my behalf. I will wish for your survival while you rub their bellies.
I have a cat.
Cats are cool, and a snail owning a cat is even cooler (I'm sorry for my silly comments). Thanks for sharing that, have a good day!

I have five cats. One of them could probably break a table by sitting on it. She eats all of the food.
Five cats? I can't even imagine how much effort it must have taken on daily to please them all. Please, take care of them and yourself properly. Of course, give them pats on my behalf if you can. Stay hydrated and good day to you!

My family had taken in a stray who lost one of her hind legs. She had died months ago, but one of her children stays and pretty much is a 1-to-1 of her mother.

Aww. I'm really, really glad you took in the stray (a cat or a dog?), especially when she was injured like that. Also, I'm sorry to hear that she passed away. :blob_teary:
Please, take good care of that little kiddo and I hope you have a pleasant day, kind stranger. Take care and see you around!

It's a cat and unlike her mother, she is much more interested in raiding the kitchen than having children.

I see, so she is a cat. That's really cute. I'm happy to hear that she is doing well, and raiding kitchen. By the way, do you have a name for her? Also, thank you for taking her in and being so kind.

Half-adopted the neighbours' cat. The silly girl knows how to open doors, but is too lazy to open them herself, she's also scared of birds but our garden is literal bird heaven...

Not sure if they count as "pets" but a few local bird families have signed non-aggression pacts and seem to slowly get passively domesticated.

I also have a beehive that suddenly formed and placed itself on our outer walls one day. We were sitting in our garden having breakfast and suddenly a wall of thousands of insects forming in front of us... Most terrifying 40 minutes of my life, and what does my stupid gamer mind do before running away? It starts playing Ride of the Valkyries as boss music...

And two small spiders maids in my room to keep mosquitoes and other insects away.
