Authors, what do you prefer digital writing (typing) or writing on paper (pen)?

depends, if it's a story I'd imagine publishing traditionally one day, I'd write with hand so I won't edit the first draft while I write

for stories for me to indulge in for fun bc nobody wrote it yet, I'd just type, the one I'm currently writing here is by typing right on the spot

As much as I'd love to write on paper, typing is more convenient. Sometimes my brain works faster than my hand so I'm prone to making errors like spelling mistakes and such. My first actual novel was handwritten actually, but I used a mechanical pencil for ease of use, so there's that!

I actually handwrite faster than I type. In college, I wrote all my lecture notes in binder notebooks by hand.
I handwrite at a decently fast pace, but my typing speed is pretty much on par. That said, I still handwrote all my notes. There is a lot more freedom to correct and make changes, add subtext, etc, in handwritten notes.
