To all Authors/Crafters of Fiction!

What music/audio do you listen to and recommend when getting words down for your fictions?

Film sound tracks? Rock? Ambient Sounds? Audio from video games? [I listen to Dead Space audio from the games...]

As in background music you listen to for those of you who do...not everyone does tho'. I get it.

Share and enjoy. I'm looking to personally expand my playlist. ♫⋆。♪ ₊˚♬ ゚. Hope everyone gets to listen to some new music as a result!

Thank you for your recommendations! ദ്ദി(—ᴗ— )

I'l start:

All the Things She Said" by t.A.T.u.

The Thing by Ennio Morricone

The Dead Dance by Lady Gaga

Fade to Black by Bleach

I lean towards rock. It motivates me but also shares some of the tones of a couple of my scenes. I don’t listen to any one song, but I’ll put on a playlist of say, Iron Maiden. My standbys are Maiden, Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead and if it’s an emotionally heavy scene, Leonard Cohen.

Silence. And if I can't have silence, I'll settle for white noise. Music is for when I'm brainstorming and imagining epic fight scenes in my head. When I'm actually writing, I need quiet.

I would recommend not listening to music while writing; it can mess up your tone.

That would depend on the environment; sometimes you need something to block out the other noises, but still be able to hear in case you are called for something.

Pardon my intrusion, but may I advertise my oshi here? She sang a cover of t.A.T.u song.

Thx.

Anyways. When writing, I tend to write in silence. Any kinds of noise other than the keyboard clacking is a distraction to me. Can't afford losing the fixation. But, when looking for ideas or chilling, I got plenty of playlists to go through. They're... Long, takes about 6 hours per playlist. I'm not kidding.

But hey, these are my main songs.

Welcome to The Internet - Bo Burnham

Hero - Mili

Friday - uglyburger

Drone Theme - uglyburger

Dead Man Walking - (Forgot the artist, still a banger tho)

Just the Two of Us - (Forgot too)

NEVER - Both of my Oshis, Neuro-Sama and Evil Neuro (lovely)

Colorful Array - My Oshi, Neuro-Sama

BOOM - Evil Neuro

LIFE - Neuro-Sama

Silence. I used to listen to songs while painting but it messed up my attention towards details. I noticed I paint better in pindrop silence. It helps me see the colors clearly. Same goes for writing.
