This is my 1001st message. My question may seem strange, but it has become a mainstream fiction plot.

Imagine you, as an author, have finished your fiction. Then, one night, while you sleep, your consciousness fades, and you travel to another world. Specifically, you transmigrate into your fiction.

If this scenario were to happen:

1. Which character would you want to possess?
2. Why did you choose that character?

I'm Eldoria. I don't need to transmigrate into anyone, because I was the world that was writing my story. I was the world that loved too much before I was broken...

Oh absolutely Cait Smith, Amaranthine. Hot, indestructible, only person guaranteed to survive.

Probably Iori from Eldritch. I know, taking the OP outer goddess isn't all that novel, but it's mostly for the fact that she got that sense of freedom. She can be anywhere and simply do or change things as she pleases. Which is why I love to imagine her entering certain story worlds and simply do her thing, bringing her unique kind of common sense into play.

As a more roundabout answer, because I find possessing characters creepy, as they got their own personality and everyone who does it is kinda a killer, I'd take a non-defined Water Angel, which are some kind of cosmic agents of order/balance in my multiverse. They got quite a lot on their table, but those girls are cool, and they have this way of taking the stage and showing off who they are whenever they make their appearance.
If not for Io's mindgames they are the kind of existence I'd strive to be.

Tempted to say David West (Between Earth and Pyrroth) but... I know his fate, He was what I kind of expected to become, but I graduated at the wrong time - two years eariler or four years later, I might have landed that UI designer job and been successful (also able to do about half of what Malcolm does as well, with the backend) but... and they both end up with gorgeous redheads...
But if I had to jump into the life of one of my characters, it would be either any of the guys from The Kaiju System (on HoneyFeed) - teenagers who get to (well, kind of have to) fight giant monsters? Yeah, I'm there.

If it has to be a story on this site, then I'd have to go with either the unseen narrator of the between-arc breaks on True Blue - for reasons I can't really go into ,beyond successful actor and child of a major superhero (maybe that's enough?) in case I get back into it.

Equinox/Donald Kevin O'Leary (Strange Awakening) would also be a strong contender. for his powers and hooking up with Kelly.

This question just made me realise that wow.... all my characters are in some deep shit and i don't want to be any of them ? I would maybe be one of the angels who seldom raid hell because of their illegal activities. Just arrest some demons and go back to heaven.

Erich Bismark. I’d have ridiculously overpowered magical abilities that feed directly into my personal kinks and already know all of the weird exploits he discovered over the course of the story so I could probably be almost half as effective as him even without going completely morally bankrupt.
This would, however, be the first time I regret injecting existential dread and actual stakes into my transparently horny isekai power fantasy. He’s still better off than the hero of the story where I’m actually taking the narrative seriously, and my worlds kinda suck for side characters.

Every one of my characters gets deleted, abused, beaten, or has something tragic happen to them that leaves them a little broken inside.

I guess choosing which character I'd transmigrate to would depend on if I gain control of the character, or if I just become that character as is.

If I become that character without any knowledge of what's to come, or what's happening, as if the character is playing out as written, I think the only well off character would be Reilynn from Archivist Maid. She's a simple maid for a cute, powerful Archivist.
-->I wouldn't mind this outcome. It would probably be the safest, and least harming/ scarring, both physically, and/or mentally, of all my characters.

If I become a character, but know how the story goes, and known the outcomes of all the other characters, and get to physically control the character, thus changing the story outright, I'd choose Lina from My Little Sister. She's essentially a dark god living on earth, that doesn't truly know her own power. Being a yandere type, she's obsessed with another character, but is so wrapped up in fighting anyone trying to steal her "love interest" that she's never actually there for them.

Tbh I’d be Kyle in my novel, Why? well because he’s a prince and a siren, and plus he’s got magical powers, so what’s there too lose. However, he’s pretty much a jerk so he’s not really the best character—and he’s a spoiled brat.
I rather not be the protagonist of my novel because he’s been through a lot of hell and deep stuff that I rather not talk about. If I got transmigrated as him I’d cry, ?…. I honestly need to stop giving my oc’s such bad backstories.

1. That's actually a really hard one.
I don't actually envy any of the characters in any of my stories enough to want to 'be' them (Because of all the crap I put them through, or will be putting them through). But if I had to pick just one, it would be Lucius Argentius.

2. Why him? That's an easy one. His life is the least 'fucked' by the end of the series (out of the full collective cast of the guys in all my stories).

This is under the impression that we are becoming said character at, or after, the end of said story.

Why did you choose that character?

I suppose I could answer 2 though? I don't want to steal someone else's life, I want my life to be better. Since everyone on earth in my story gets dungeon cores and all the cool powers associated with them, there's no need to be someone else.
