I use Arch BTW

actually for real it actually makes a difference to my writing. Keyboard layouts on linux are text files you can just edit. I edited mine to include some symbols I use a lot and would otherwise need to learn some unicode hold super and shift and enter its hex value bullshit for. For example, capslock+? = ‽ which is a symbol I actually use a lot. I also added in the correct symbols for feet (′) and inches (″) and superscript characters for all english ordinals. (1ˢᵗ, 2ⁿᵈ, 3ʳᵈ, 4ᵗʰ)

The thing about linux is if you know what you're doing then there's no limit on what you can do

I should be, but until I need a new PC, I won't make the jump. I'm just relying on an old Windows 10 machine. Windows 11 has officially become harder to troubleshoot than a Linux machine. Still, I'll be sad that I'll lose access to games with a kernel-level anti-cheat.

Because I'm insane, I'm currently merging 126 packages on Gentoo. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm having a blast.

Windows 10/Linux in parallel, with the aim to eventually fully switch to Linux.

You'll regret it. It's the only operating system that gets worse with each update. It started out as a minor upgrade to Windows 10, and after many patches is nowadays considered worse than Windows 8.
By the time I have to switch, Microsoft will have fixed most things. Lots of the hate is just blown out of proportion, with people complaining about things that can easily be removed:blob_sir:

It came out 5 years ago, and it currently has more problems now than when it first came out. The file explorer is slower than any other Windows OS (dut to the fact that when you try to search anything it looks for it on the internet first and then tries to find it in your computer), troubleshooting is more complicated than in any other Windows OS, the hardware requirements are too stringent (The company doesn't want you to upgrade; it wants you to buy a new computer), it's start menu is inferior and has less uses than Windows 10, the new taskbar sucks, they ditched the useful action center, the OS constantly tries to push you into using their other services rather than relying on third parties if you want, etc.

All intentional design changes that users hated, but Microsoft has no intention to fix.
