Tempokai seems to channel Crow and Tom Servo in the Roasts thread... so there may be some bots...

Some platforms like Wattpad openly manipulate stats to make a new novel look popular.

I mean... Is it realistic that out of 500 readers, no one leaves a comment?

Sorry, I can't reply to comments right away, but I really appreciate anyone who takes the time.
I've also doubted if it's bots in the past, but then I switched to mobile recently. Changed everything. I feel way too lazy to login and comment with my phone, so I've stopped, and now I realize why some stories have many views but few comments.

To be more positive, I actually comment less on stories I like more, and feel more immersed in. My fingers just automatically click the heart, then 'next chapter' button. I comment more on stories where I'm starting to feel bored, am considering quitting, and am just looking for reasons to barely keep hanging on.

In short, less comments aren't necessarily a bad thing. Good luck there! :)

Someone with the username "Butt_Shaker" is talking about bots. I swear there is a joke to be had here, I'm just not comically gifted enough to put it together.
Aren't we all bots who gained sentience?
Some singularity sounding stuff right here...

Does YT use bots? Out of 3.2 mills views on this video and 177k subscribers on the channel there are only 7k commens. Is this video botted?

Sorry for being abrasive, but I think this is the best answer.
possibly, actually. There are services that will do that for some money.

I know, at the same time, I doubt every youtuber ever uses them. Meanwhile every youtuber never has 50% of views translate into comments. It's always a small fraction.
