It's a member of the vampire society in Liana's original world who works as someone who enforces their laws on their kind, to ensure they don't become a threat to society and a cause for their kind to be hunted.
Think of the masquerade from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Only, it's just one type of vampire - not multiple variants.

Liana can walk in sunlight, has no issue with divine magic and the only reason why she doesn't like garlic is cos she doesn't like normal food anymore.

because vamps and lich's don't pay the rent bill, why I grouped them :P. And just because divine doesn't work, doesn't mean Lazers cant :o. Plus most normal races aren't comfortable with vampires around anyway, too much drama and you'll get everyone complaining o3o.
