I couldn't find @ohko or @GM specifically mentioning it, but doing it as a party quest has been mentioned in the past.

I mean, nothing in the rank exam says anything about doing it solo.

Ok, as a veteran. Get rubbing alcohol, Vitamins, canned beans, tomato sauce and pasta.
Vitamins tend to run out quickly, their good to have if you can't get oranges n stuff.
