Say... guys, how do you decide when an event would go south? Honestly, I like tragic character, so I'm biased to write bad event - bad event - bad ending when I am in fun mode. Otherwise, when I wrote something that should be written in 30 minutes to 1 hour, it feels bland.

I write bad ends all the time too. ^^ For me, any kind of development needs to have emotional weight, so if the emotional weight isn’t developed yet, then it is premature.

Well if you have exp rework suggestions, let me know.

My thinking was that players should do 4-5 quests to level up at a level.
Assign a risk assessment, then roll the dice? Like, as a receptionist, you can assign 0.25 chance an event will happen. 0.05 chance that the event will go south. And if they succeed for their next roll, they could claim a higher exp.

Likewise, in slime subjugation, increase the exp rewarded, based on that.

Yes it is. Everything fun is gated behind lvl 2+ quests too. For some reason quests seem to favour mob killing too despite the fact that being a proper maid or office work for a day is way harder than dealing with some slimes. To some extent I feel people here are equating exp to battle progress and danger than experience.
Oh, and the other thing is that levels do equate to the characters power level — so to some extent it doesn’t make total sense that a character could become a C rank adventurer purely from doing paperwork.

This is also part of the reason why the Promotion Exams are there to standardize power level advancement.

It’s a fair idea, but it departs a bit much from the AG model that was taken from NUF.

There were definitely other role plays (also attempted on NUF) that were more dice challenge based — D&D for instance — although it requires more intensive GM-ing.

To some extent the flexibility of AG is one of its biggest appeals.

Well... why not? I think there should be an office worker exam, that grants benefit as C-rank adventurer. We need more surveyor to verify the findings in the report. We need those who analyze the information from the anecdote and create a plan [a.k.a quest].

Why is the old guild quests in table format now?
When you try to quote them, it looks extremely messed up
 Is it bad?

I stare at the quest board screen for most of my time, and it’s easier for me to navigate the giant post as a table. (Eyes get blurry)

Copy-pasting should preserve the format, I think.

Hmm, but from an OOC perspective anyone should be able to do all those things?

I’m not really seeing the function of an A-rank or C-rank receptionist, or what is really the big gap between them?

To be technical, this is the “Adventurer’s Guild” — not the “Merchants Guild” (which also exists IC). Consequently, the rank is an assessment of how good of an adventurer you are.

As for how to define an adventurer?

I think I’m drawing a lot from the Hunter X Hunter definition —

Where you can have a “Gourmet Hunter” (who primarily cares about exotic foods), but they still have a basic set of proficiencies that all Hunters need to have, like athleticism.

Currently in my head it’s planned for a different biome — as soon as some goes to those mountains :blob_happy:
It's a level 2 quest right? I think perused past it.

I kind of find more interesting @AliceShiki 's character that is going to be stuck prepromotion because of her inability to fight than find a way to promote her anyway.

I think someone should go and make a quest for it.

@Cascadian Located mountains in this quest report. So someone needs to go make contact, and maybe we can setup another region / quest board -- in a mountain biome.
