Technically you could show the winners of the last contest on the main page, with a link to archived results of past contests. But of course it all assumes official support for contests from Tony in the first place.
...and the rogue "everything is a translation" malfunctioning software gets told the winners are *not* AI. Cause the way things are right now? You'll click on the contest winner, get 404'd.
You'll be lucky to get *one* cover on the front page, there's limited real estate out there.
Honestly what makes sense to me, is the latest "winner" gets a permanent trending spot until the next contest.
Runners up get maybe a week in trending but then they go off.
when you click on the winner, you also see runners-up w/links to the works.
the problem with doing a big yearly contest, then little contests between.
you don't have real estate on the front page, to put them there. You about need a "click here for contest page" deal.
but seriously. This poor Tony guy. You expect him to make changes for the contest?
You all "demanded" he "do something".
He's running around doing stuff, and everything he does leads to another fiasco right now.
You need to let the poor guy have a vacation when all this dust settles.
Now. We had monthly contests on another site.
It was fun, but you enter knowing you can't win. This guy that can make you *cry* in three paragraphs, he enters. And he wins, every time.
One, maybe two there that can give him a run for his money. There's your runners up. Every, single, time.
I'm sure you got a "king writer" here, even if you don't know who he is. You run contests, you'll just find out who the site heavyweight is.
Or, past number one winners, are not eligible. Cause I'm imagining big winners, get on a cool list and memorialized. They got their exposure and a lasting link to their... kingliness.
Making runners up the gossip for taking it next.
You know, some high school girly drama, who gets voted homecoming queen next.
