Yesterday I reached the 100th chapter on one of my first public web fics, My Succubus System.
It's a blend of isekai, fantasy, adventure and of course, 18+ sexual content.

Truth be told, I never really expected it, I just had an idea for what I thought would be a great fiction. I also decided to give it a try and do some adult themes. With that in mind, I'm curious -- for the readers of ecchi fiction, what draws your interest in a good "plot" driven story?

Lately I'm seeing more salacious, outrageous themes , some of which border on depravity. IS that something people enjoy indulging in?

Legitimately curious!

We have our own tastes, the true question is how many people do have the same tastes as ours

That's true, to me the 1st ranking series in the site is utterly trash
Good thing I only ever hit number two~~~!

Seriously though, for me, I dislike it when things feel unrealistic or too forced, and I prefer there to not be overly exaggerated "attributes" to character's appearances sexually, no DDDDD boobs, or 2 foot dicks or 16 sets of rock hard abs or whatever. I'm being a bit hyperbolic here to hopefully make my point.

Maybe it's just me, but I have gotten more turn on by a well-described makeout scene than scenes of actual sex. And one of the biggest turn-offs for me was actually something in a story I like otherwise, Chapter 67 of "Demon Lord's Succubus" - the "Sex Duel" - Two characters who had been all lovey-dovey with their prospective partners, were arguing and somehow it turns into a contest of who was more manly, in which they forced themselves upon their lovers in the meeting room, despite protests, and yet somehow at the end both of the women were ok with it.

I like the story otherwise, so I've overlooked it, and maybe it wouldn't bother someone else, I suppose this stuff is really subjective, but it just felt like a big shift in the characters for both women not still be even a little angry, even if they enjoyed it somewhat, it was still a really bad time, and they were being used as implements in the fight between the two men, rather than being made love to because of affection.

I'm not really sure if I will enjoy the "love stories" of those two sets of characters anymore because of that. In the end, for me, it really had little to do with the sex bit itself but more in how weird their reactions seem to me.

I think the whole crux of the argument I'm trying to make is, I like things to be somewhat grounded in reality. To me that makes it an enhancement to the actual plot if it can be woven in and not feel too out of place, rather than just a detour taken along the way. I don't really care as long as it feels like it makes sense within the story and the characters thus far.

--------

That said, I'm writing my own story for the first time, and I have the smut tag in it, and the main character with succubus traits and I realize it's not as easy to write a sex scene as it might seem. I've not really done like I've seen some stories do and try to make every other, or ever two chapters an explicit scene. I've tried to have them be a part of the normal story flow, though I do feel like they might still seem a bit out of place if Lilith didn't have succubus traits. I'm also using a flimsy excuse of her not fully knowing/controlling her abilities, in the beginning, to help fit in the few times I have experimented with explicit scenes thus far.

Going forward I hope to implement them in a more sensible way, and eventually maybe even rewrite past scenes to fit better, especially the first-ever. I feel like it's a difficult line to straddle, especially when you're a brand new writer too.

Edit: Grammarly autocorrected a phrase to the wrong thing. :blob_no:

I enjoy depravity. However, what turns me on and what I want in a story are very different things. I'm writing the story I want to read, the story I want to live, but my porn tastes are more . . . extreme. It all comes down to which parts of my brain I want to stimulate, and if I plan to stimulate my body as well. There's a time and place for objectification.

Not a douche mc. I rarely stray away from male protagonists, and something that I hate reading is where the mc is a bad guy. The trait of being cold-blooded, merciless, calculating, and just an evil dude that is not a 'goody two shoes' is fucking garbage. It just doesn't work as intended. Mc, basically, turns into a cliche villain. When a villain is portrayed like that kind of character, anyone will shit on him for being one dimensional, yet when it's mc, everything is okay. The amount of ecchi or r-18 works that have this kind of mc are steadily increasing. And finding a really interesting 'bad' mc is a pain. Most of them either rapists, whit little to no development, or some kind of a badass that is used for a plain self-insert.

What I would like, is to read a fluff r-18 novel with male mc. This is something that is almost impossible to find, I think. With no bid grama, no fantasy or mystery, no BL, or GL, no overbearing comedy, with visible progress of the relationship. Plain romance with male mc being in the lead. Something like Wotakoi, Horimiya, 3D Kanojo, but with the focus on the relationship of one pair, where mc is male, rather than having multiple mc's.

From my experiences people have certain expectations when it comes to being Succubus. Which is basically f*ck anything that moves. Personally, I'm not going that route. I'm working towards a character that is much more flirtatious and intuitive. So she can tell which approach to use and when to do which things.

The main complaint is that people don't like the succubus not being "succubus like" the instant the story started.
This means not having wings, or sexually assaulting others from what I can see.
They also had a huge problem with what they perceived to be sexual assault despite all explanations to the contrary--but ONLY when it happened to the main character.

Really weird. But eh, its entertainment.

I agree in this regard. I can't believe the # of people in comments sections cheering on such blatant depravity. (Rape, torture, cannibalism mixed with sex--yea you name it they are up for it).

It's really sickening in some ways. You're not really alone in thinking its weird a.f.

Sry guy didn't know it was your story, i was meaning another one that is no more the 1st, yours is very good, it was my fault for not checking before
Np. Even if you meant mine, it's my first story and I know my shortcomings, so I wouldn't have really minded.

I can tolerate rape and torture to an extent. If it's written properly that is. Most of the time, it's rape for the sake of rape, or torture for the sake of torture, but somehow, if you slap a tag villainous mc(or something like that) people would start to cheer for this. Even though the mc is extremely one-dimensional like he has only half of his emotions that are working and decided to be evil for the sake of being evil.

If you've read something like Pure Love Insult Complex, where there is a lot of rape, and then compare it with The Marquis’ Eldest Son’s Lascivious Story, the quality and the meaning of rape is worlds apart. As well as the depth of the characters, their development. In the first story, it's a storytelling tool, in the second, the story is written for the sake of writing rape scenes.
