    Fortnite's Racist AI Darth Vader

I know. I'm saying, James Earl Jones sold those voice samples with the explicit intention of them being used by an AI so they could continue to use his voice after his death. If they were doing this without permission then I would agree, but he willingly and knowingly made this business deal...

    Fortnite's Racist AI Darth Vader

Well, it's not really mimicking him. They're using voice samples that he, himself, sold before his death for exactly this purpose.

    Fortnite's Racist AI Darth Vader

I'm not a Fortnite fan. I don't despise it like some people do, but I don't really like it either. What I do enjoy is watching trainwrecks, like the one the Fortnite devs currently find themselves in. They had the brilliant idea to put Darth Vader in the game as an AI controlled squadmate, with...

    Does writing effect your gaming?

And vice versa? This is something that just occurred to me, and I thought it was kind of interesting. I love video games. They're my main hobby, right below writing, and I rarely go a day without playing them at least a little. But I've noticed recently that that what games I play and how I...

    Weekend writing

I do my best writing when I'm not supposed to be writing. If I can get all my work done at the office, I'll bring up Google Docs and pound out a few hundred words while still pretending to work. It's probably the closest I'll ever get to earning a steady paycheck with my writing...

    What a nice surprise...

I came home from work today and found out I've got some new neighbors. LOTS of new neighbors. I'm so happy... Have I ever told you guys that I have a legit phobia of anything with a stinger?

Is it just me or do anyone else get turned off when authors bring irl politics and their nationalists jingoism to novels

I downloaded the first He Who Fights With Monsters book on Audible, but I never listened to it because I found out the main character has a tendency to go on rants about how much he hates America. As if it's not dumb enough that he apparently has nothing better to do in the middle of saving the...

What genres of music do you listen to while writing/reading?

Nothing. Music is for brainstorming. Silence is for writing. And if I can't have silence, I'll settle for white noise.

When reading, what makes a world appear generic. (In terms of worldbuilding)

Elves and dwarves. If a story has elves and dwarves, I immediately want to put it down. Those two races scream "I have no passion for what I'm writing so I'm going to let Tolkien do all the work for me." Maybe if the author did something new with them, it wouldn't be so bad, but they never do...

Time of the month, Kaiju editon

I would be blorb. Because I am already blorb. So I would just become bigger blorb. Then I would blorb my blorb all over the blorbing blorb. Just like real blorb. I mean life.

On the plus side, these ones actually look really good, even if it forgot to make her a faun in the second one.

Sell me on your MC, not your story

Henry Rider comes from a race of people who feed on human laughter. Joy is actually part of their DNA. But somehow, she's ended up with the saddest job in the world. If a klaon forcibly feeds on someone's laughter, they turn into a maiam, and as the Hunter it's Henry's job to slay maiams before...

Describe your MC in one sentence

Henry Rider: 50% hero, 50% turducken. Justin Flinchley: Kame-hame-holly jolly Christmas! Zave: He'll fight a horde of monsters without hesitation, but wet himself if you turn off the lights. Fey: Confidently second guessing herself every moment of every day. Clueless: Clueless.

    Calling out named attacks?

Sure, but to me at least "And then he used Binding Blade" sounds a lot clunkier than just having the character say "Binding Blade!" and moving on since, by that point, the reader should already know what Binding Blade does.

    Calling out named attacks?

You know that thing they do in animes, where they'll yell the name of their attacks? How do you feel about that in books? For example, if a character had a special move called Binding Blade that immobilizes their opponent for a few seconds, would it annoy you if they yelled "Binding Blade!"...

Making Up Random Names to Find It Isn't Actually Random

No, but there was a character named Toke in that same story. And no, I didn't realize what that word meant either until people started filling my comments with "wEeD lOl! 420 bLaZe It!"
