Most flattering or interesting review you've ever gotten?

I would need more reviews on my story to answer this properly. Glad to see other people's review though.

    Writing Notebooks, Computers, Writing Platform...

I write based-on where I read content, which nowadays means on computer or on the phone. Usually, I do the outlines and very, very rough drafts on the phone, clean it up and on the computer, then do a final edit on the phone.

    Connecting (Or not) Stories/Canons

If the books share the same fictional universe, you could subtly hint at the other work through tales or well known exploits of the other book's characters in passing, such as bar talk. As for your use of "canon", you are the one writing the stories so why wouldn't be canon? That's only an...

    Bloodshed and Backstories

So you want a character whose backstory had no rational or justifiable reason for turning dark? A person's life doesn't go dark on its own unless they were already messed-up in the head. Edit: Granted, my story's MC doesn't have much of a backstory other than being experimented-on while...

New Dark Fantasy Web Novel (Happy to do Review Swaps)

Are you looking to review swap with another dark fantasy story? Or just any story in general? Either way, I'm down. I'll reserve any official reviews until more content is released, but I'll be happy to communicate via message.

Stories with summaries as the title

For me," Tale" gives off the essence of a traditional story, while "Rising" gives off the vibe that the story will be centered around struggle and defiance. In any case, I prefer the former. Just my thoughts.

Stories with summaries as the title

"And Here I Was Thinking Of Writing a New Story With A Title As Long As A Paragraph Just To Poke Fun At A Trend" That is the new title of a book I will never write. Do you think it will be a popular? Oh, btw main character is a brick, for obvious reasons, and his love interest is a used fleshlight.

How Many Words Do You Guys Average Per Chapter

1500 to 2500 words. As for length of completion, it varies. I like to take my time curating what I want in the chapter. I try to get rid of the 'fat', repetition, unnecessary sentences, plot holes, odd sounding paragraphs, etc. Of course, I can also write 4000 words worth of garbage, just...

    American Surnames. Explain!!

This is like asking why your surname is Saian. You can legally change your name to whatever you want in the U.S., so long as you go through proper channels. So, the purpose really doesn't matter does it? Btw, I've never met anyone with those surnames you have listed.

    Unsatisfying

I would argue that it is. Personally, I don't like publishing a chapter on the same day of its completion...or even the same week. This is because I need to take a few days to clear my head before looking it over again with 'fresh' eyes. Rinse and repeat until scheduled release. A break is...

Dark Fantasy, the do's and don'ts?

Eh, I dunno. I'm writing mine without giving a damn about taboos. It's DARK fantasy, not a slice-of-life trip down a scary hole. Expletives can be used to great effect when summing-up the character's motives and thoughts into a single word. Hell, you can swear all you want in your story, just...

    The most underrated fantasy/medieval weapon...

In reality, shields actually were used as an offensive weapon. They weren't just there to block or deflect hits. As for fantasy stories using them as such, I haven't come across one...although, my own story does use them as an offensive tool similar to a katar or cestus.

    The most underrated fantasy/medieval weapon...

[1] Dacian Falx, which decimated the Romans. [2] Halberds/Pole-arms which dominated medieval battlefields [3] Sword and Buckler combination, alternatively, Sword and Dagger (espada y daga) which were used for close quarters combat (like on ships), rather than battlefield combat [4] Cudgels [5]...

    Got my first 1 star

Looks like it was removed since you only have 5 star ratings. Curious though, have you considered spreading your releases out to maybe a chapter a day or a chapter every few days? I'm not sure how your release system is, but you may garner more fans and views by spreading-out the story...

If you can't go for quality, then go for quantity. Is this the case with novels too?

Authors are all different. Some can pump-out chapters in a fever dream of inspiration, while others can't. Some will tell you to just keep writing and never stop, while others will tell you to write with substance. I for one, write for my own improvement. I guess what I am trying to say is...

[Disc] How do you, as a reader, feel when a novel you like signs on as premium exclusive on webnovel?

It'd be a shame, but in the end, if the author is getting paid, then I'm not going to complain. Sometimes, we as consumers forget that there is a cost for people's time and effort. That said, as an author myself, I would never do an exclusive deal.

I found that 1st person is easier for immersion; 3rd person is easier for world building.
