    I need advice

I found out that, when I actually sit down to write, I actually made progress with the story. Even if I have no plan or idea what I'm going to do next about the story before sitting down. If you work better with outline, then do more of that. Otherwise, not thinking too much like me might do...

    How To Fight Inactivity Block

For me, I scribble 1-3 chapters from several new novel ideas that comes to mind. Then, after I wrote around 3-10 of them, I found 1 novel that I really, really like. So I go all in on that novel and managed to write while having a lot of fun the entire time. At this point, not continuing the...

Stance on Harems and what do you think make them bad? Also if you were to write a Harem, how much do you think would be the number limit of members.

What makes it bad is probably not letting the readers develop enough care and liking for the harem members. It's the same problem with writing any bad character (harem or not). If you keep moving on from one girl to the next and forgetting the old one, that's also bad.

How do you figure out the best time to post something?

I think it's best to not overthink it and just try to publish everyday at the same time. But if you know your audience reading habits, you can fit your schedule to that.

Writing Writing Speed Fast at the Start, but Keeps Slowing Down?

I see. Going overboard on either side of planning is a bad idea then. About my characteristic as an author, I think I'm in the process of exploring it too. And I think, reflecting on how other writer works best, like how you shared yours, helps with this exploration process. It's impressive...

Writing Writing Speed Fast at the Start, but Keeps Slowing Down?

I have just tried to fit the pieces of advice into my personality and finished writing a chapter. I think I have a working solution for now, although it might not be perfect and can be improved. For anyone curious, what I do is create a 'signpost' of where the story needs to go next. Just now...

Writing Writing Speed Fast at the Start, but Keeps Slowing Down?

Noted. Right. I probably started to expect or restraint myself to write above a certain quality, instead of to simply write. What is a plan? I feel like I've been called out, haha. I do have inspiration to guide me on where to go in the beginning, so that was probably my plan until it's gone...

Writing When is it too much or too little words?

I think trying to update daily is more important than word count, but since you asked... For a web novel, I rarely find the chapters to be long, unlike regular novel. Around 800-1.5k words would probably be good.

    Writing Environment Description

Writing what the character thinks of the environment, how the environment affect the characters, or how it reflects what the characters are currently feeling can help. If you really want, you can visually describe the scene. But I myself tend to not do that, so I can't help much with it...

Chapter names or no chapter names?

I name them because it helps me find the chapter I need to refer back later on. Even if the chapter name just consist of a single word.

Writing Writing Speed Fast at the Start, but Keeps Slowing Down?

Hi, I noticed that my writing speed is quite fast when starting a new series, but it started to slow down about 15k words later. Have you experienced something similar? How to make full use of that initial buff? What should I do to prevent the slow down? Thank you.

Writing Should this include the "incest" tag?

No, it's not incest. That's by blood, not by soul. Some readers might feel conflicted though, even more so if MC also feel conflicted about it.

Mystery was written off as bad writing.

I think it can keep the reader intrigued, but I'm not sure whether the big reveal would make me feel that catharsis/aha moment. Since it would probably be days after I read the last few chapters. It's easy to get distracted reading on phone/PC with other stuff, so even if you have all the...

I need to test and discuss this new writing method

I think because I'm not used to it, it made me more focus/alert. But I can see that it's also easier to read somehow. Is it faster? Probably not until I, and most of your reader, get used to it. Which means they might feel annoyed and turn away before then.

    How to get more readers

All else being equal, most readers would probably prefer to binge read 50+ chapters at once rather than reading a new novel with only few chapters. So write a lot first. Of course if you feel like your current story is not working, dropping it and starting a better one is also an option.

    Writing Structure: Back-and-forth conversations

I use #1 most of the time for dialogues. If the setting is clear and it's clear who's speaking, then I let the readers imagine their expressions and body language as the characters speak. I only use minimal description. Except if I want a slow pace or a dramatic scene, I don't think I ever use...

    Writing Onomatopeia usage

I use it only in dialogues. If someone gets punched, then they, the actor, should scream and play the part. Not the narrator. If someone laughed, confused, frustrated, felt anger, cried, I let them speak up their feelings in dialogue. An exception if I want the pacing to be slow. Then I will...

What do you consider to be generic Isekai Fantasy?

I don't hate the generics. Elf, dragon, and stuffs are nice and makes it easy for the readers to understand. If being unique is not necessary, then it's fine to use templates. If I, for example, write about a new race called, "Sun Child". Then the readers have to be introduced, learn, and...
