How do you organize your characters and ideas?

I write profile sheets in notepad docs

How does your IRL reflect in your writing?

I write about stuff I liked or wanted to see. As for the overall themes, I just add what I think is cool or sensible. I do think my writing's influenced by my experiences a lot, and I shared some in my Afterwords like some self-reflection and what could have been's. And yeah, I do get the last...

Sometimes I want a reader to tell me why they dropped a story.

Same. Getting to know the why is super helpful for the same reason you said. However, if it's something related to what Corty said in the thread, it's pointless to fight or defend your work. Just let those readers walk away without a fuss. It may feel bad, but it's no use spending effort in...

What do you think about images in a novel?

I love it. Visual guides in the middle of the book are great, and they help me visualize characters and places more than words can ever do. They're way better than those tables of stats in my opinion. Then again, I also may be biased because of my background and preferred style.

The Agony of the 1-Star Review - Should We Rethink Harsh Critique?

Same reasoning for me. In my opinion, I don't think anything deserves a 1-star unless it's actual unreadable mess. I also just don't leave a rating on something I don't like for the same reasons you do. The world is largely full of negativity these days, and I won't like to contribute much to...

I see some last logins dated 2022 and such, and I kinda feel sad but not too much. At times, I feel like saying hi but it may feel too out of nowhere. Then again, I went on hiatus myself, a bit longer than I expected.

Every now and then, I go back to read my old forum posts. I know a lot of people often associate that with some negative feeling about the old self or something, but reading the posts certainly makes me feel a good type of nostalgia. I miss those days, and I wonder how those people from 2 years...

    Seven capital virtues

Something aiming for, will probably be patience. Feels the most practical, and it should help get over what comes our way in life. When I took tests and such online, my results lean towards temperance. I guess those online tests do factor in stuff like not getting peer pressured into vices...

    Your Thoughts on Game Walkthroughs

I just love those video game magazines they print at the local news stands back then. I remember reading up and imagining the entire first Metal Gear Solid and Dino Crisis without playing the games because the content was so detailed. Complete with screenshots and other bonus unlockables.

    Your Thoughts on Game Walkthroughs

It's one of my hobbies back when I was still active in gaming (around the 2000s). I enjoy reading strategies, and I do love it when the writer puts out his thought processes and adds some extra strategies and tips. I think those text walkthroughs helped foster the love for reading articles and...

    Seven deadly sins

Envy definitely. Either greed or pride probably for 2nd, but I'm not super sure of that. In a way, lust can make a case, but only if it's on anime NSFW stuff. I have almost zero interest on RL stuff and actual sexual relationships. I don't consider myself too slothful, and while I get annoyed...

In what language do you think?

Just English. Ofc it's easier to talk to the locals in Filipino, even though I'm not as fluent with it, being a foreigner and someone who consumes mostly Japanese and English media. I feel more confident typing and conversing online through English, too.

    What are your characters' flaws?

Main character can be quite insensitive and blunt. He's also a bit detached and doesn't exactly learn to empathize until around 2, 3 volumes in. Also tends to be reckless.

Do you share your writing with your family?

Not really. They know I'm writing something and all, but I never show or discuss the content.

Stories of how you come to get inspired to write, the cost of writing, and the aftereffects from it?

I loved anime, especially those I grew up with as a college student in the early 2010s/late 2000s. I wanted to try my hand at it. Something that I can call my own and love. Characters I can call my own even if they're obviously inspired by existing characters. An imaginary OP/ED where I can...

    Suggestion need: Tournament arc

You can probably have the protag learn something in round 1, face off with some characters, and maybe take a loss round 2 or so, before proceeding to the other half of the arc which is concurrent with the tournament. Should be decently long, but you can trim the arc to be shorter. Maybe have...
