    Recommendations Hermit/introvert/NEET stories

Top Tier Providence is a good hermit one. I Really Am Not The Lord Of Demon and Anomalous Collector (异常收藏家) might fit the bill as well. Fred from Drew Hayes' "Fred, The Vampire Accountant" is an introvert.

Been watching American court TV. Lots of similarities with local court but one difference: more people would get a whooping. And there are more annoying little brats with entitlement issues.

Why does your military organization suck?

Well, many present day and historical militaries were and are not-so-good. As someone who did their time chewing on coffee grounds and tea leaves with a rumbling stomach in the cold with a sub-par coat, I can assure you that motivation among conscripts was at an all-time high! The great...

    Writing Modern Poetry; A Guide

As someone considered uncultured - I did not attend high school, I admire ancient poetry. Nothing better than a drink, a good drinking companion, and some poetry to discuss. The old greats are awe-inspiring: rhythms that stretch through entire epics, brilliantly thought-out rhymes, layers of...

    Powers borne through suffering

The power to teleport. It would have allowed me to escape the violence without resorting to greater violence. Yet it would not eliminate the violence or guilt. The guilt would still be that of a coward. Instead of a brutal, vile coward it would be the guild of a timid, selfish coward. The...

Who Do You Want To Be Stuck With?

Never heard of 'em. Judging by the names, Asmongold sounds almost decent. "Dung eater, crack that coconut for me, would you?" or "Nurgle, want to hear another quirkle?" Their names would be awkward to call.

All fanfic writers are creatively bankrupt thieves.

S'pose the sequel is a little milder. Yet they are close enough that many arguments are relevant to both topics. I assumed this thread would die after you created the sequel. Oy.

What do you think of an evil protagonist or head of an underworld organization?

Absolutely. Lexicographers, prescriptivists, spelling bee participants, Rod Evans, (evolutionary) linguists, scrabble players, the poor sods taking TOEFL, ... Plenty of people care a great deal about the dictionary. Some of them even spend a great amount of time and energy to remove words from it.

All fanfic writers are creatively bankrupt thieves.

Flashman and the Tiger was an interesting book, and the Sherlock story was certainly glorious! I am currently re-reading all the works in order of their fictional chronology as opposed to order of publication. I've just started "Flashman at the Charge". It is perhaps my favorite of the papers...

Sequel to fanfic thread. All fanfics are trash.

Yes. As I personally liked "Tom Brown's School Days", our tastes must differ, however. Of course, the Flashman Papers are an entirely different species of literature. The protagonist would not be out of place in a modern-day web serial.
