    A character card for writing

This is awesome. Very succinct. I'd add a bit more in personality like: Alignment - with one main alignment, and two alternates ones between which it can oscillate. I think that is large enough movement for characters actions. Their favourite food on Earth. AND their fav on wherever Where would...

What do you think makes someone a monster?

So, the word "Monster" has taken too many meanings in the 20th century. The original meaning is a "malformed human". Which is why Frankenstein's monster is a protagonist in the story. To me, the best sort of antagonist monstrosity that you can find are the Lovercraftian horrors. Monsters who...

Is this just me but I’ll find it incredibly hard to find interesting books to read?

Nice bait language, but I am not falling for that. ASOIAF is amazing. And just as I cannot change your tastes, you cannot change mine. If you want to keep on scratching your itch till it bleeds, it is your right. But, just as everyone has a right to call ASOIAF boring in a PUBLIC FORUM, I too...

    [Discussion] Your fictional materials

Completely fair in that sense. Not everything needs to be linguistic in development. Pratchett has his Octarine deriving from something completely silly.

Is this just me but I’ll find it incredibly hard to find interesting books to read?

I will still say you find much, much better books in the stuff that are published by the publishing companies. They are edited, and that makes them so much better. They cost money for a reason. Of course, not everyone will like such books - but know that you got downvoted in reddit or anything...

Anyone know what this does? The Edit Tags/Notes thing? The thread on this must have buried deep within the Forums. Can't find anything about it.

    Blockquotes italicizing everything.

The indentation caused the words to pile up on one side. :sweating_profusely: All fixed now.

I was in for a huge shock when I went to view it in my mobile.

    Blockquotes italicizing everything.

In my story, I'm trying to quote from a certain poem, and I would like it not to italicize everything inside. I would like it to be: And not: Tried fiddling around with the editor, and tried to look up the thread explaining the editor. Is there any option? Or am I stuck with it?

Is this just me but I’ll find it incredibly hard to find interesting books to read?

I have nothing much to add to this: your taste, and your time, are yours to spend. However, calling A Song of Ice and Fire BORING ... is almost, almost, criminal. Incomplete, surely true. Boring? Nuh uh. If you read it with care, you will find riches in the subtleties of dialogue, in the...

    Editing Word Strength Thesaurus?

Word Hippo is very good and is a handy tool. I was looking more for something that gives an indication of which of synonyms carry how much amplitude regarding the particular emotion, action, or description that they relate.
