Writing [Tutorial] Structure of the GOTHIC Tale

?Happy Halloween, my Delicious Friends!? Structure of the GOTHIC Tale NOT your average Horror story. Both Horror stories and Gothic tales delve into the realm of emotional trauma such as revenge, abuse, and hate -- including, if not especially, sexual trauma. However, the darkness in a Gothic...

    Writing [Tutorial] Writing Erotic HORROR

Anything by Poppy Z Brite, if you want Good. -- Look for the "Love in Vein" anthology series edited by Poppy Z Brite. They're mostly vampire short stories, but they're quite good. You can get used paperbacks at a very reasonable price. You're right, Erotic Horror is quite niche. Most dark...

If they had a very good time...? -- Though the story would be rather mundane -- unless the girl intended to kill him that way? No wait, that's a Snuff Tale, not Erotic Horror.

    Writing [Tutorial] Writing Erotic HORROR

It would definitely be Erotica, but the smut has to result in Death or be the cause of death to be Erotic Horror.

    Writing [Tutorial] Writing Erotic HORROR

?Happy Halloween, my Delicious Friends!? Writing Erotic HORROR Tossing a random sex scene into a Horror story will not give you an Erotic Horror story. All that does is make a Horror story with erotic bits. To write a true Erotic Horror, both Death and Sex must carry equal weight in the plot...

Writing How would you describe the smell of a fabcon or at least the smell of a bunch of flowers?

What you need is a thesaurus: a book that gives you a list of a word's synonyms to use for descriptions -- so you're not repeating the same words over and over, even if you're describing exactly the same thing. Example: Scent from Thesaurus.Com aura bouquet essence odor perfume spice whiff...

Writing [Tutorial] Writing the LOVE scene vs. the Sex scene.

Honestly, I have no idea because I have no clue how you (your culture?) view love, and what you'd consider a healthy relationship. I'd probably need to do a lot of research before I could come up with an idea that might answer your question. Thank you so much for you very thoughtful review!

Writing [Tutorial] Writing the LOVE scene vs. the Sex scene.

Timing is everything. -- If I'm writing about paragraphing and dialogue, the topic of 'said' is a natural progression. Especially when the way I was taught to paragraph actually negates the use of 'said' entirely. It's silly to post how much I loathe 'said' at the end of the essay, when the...

Writing [Tutorial] Writing the LOVE scene vs. the Sex scene.

It's not at all -- when done right. -- I won't read BL with guys holding hands and being 'cute,' even though I personally know more than my share of gay men who actually are that way. LOL! I'm sure you are, but I won't post it here. I know better.

Writing [Tutorial] Writing the LOVE scene vs. the Sex scene.

Ah! Thank you for the clarification. -- I prefer to post useful advice, though I will throw in my opinion every now and again. For example, I truly do loathe the use of 'said' and have no shame in mentioning it -- frequently. Overall however, I prefer posting techniques people can actually...

Writing [Tutorial] Writing the LOVE scene vs. the Sex scene.

ROFLMAO! -- I did post my most controversial essay! Proper Paragraphing has never failed to draw out the rage posts. The only other pair of tutorials that got even close to that much screaming was one about writing Yaoi characters without feminizing them, and on writing females characters...

Against 'this'? -- Do you mean opinion essays, or you disagree with what I wrote? You're allowed to disagree you know. I'd just rather not have a thread full of screaming.

Writing [Tutorial] Writing the LOVE scene vs. the Sex scene.

I did indeed say that some wives allow their husbands to have mistresses. However, when one of the only two men I ever actually fell in love with decided to impregnate a girl I did not trust -- while I was still living with him, I chose to leave rather than get in the way of his plans for a...

    Writing Horror and comedy?

YES. Beetlejuice has more emphasis on Comedy, but it's still pretty damned creepy. -- It's by Tim Burton after all. Also: Ravenous has more emphasis on Horror, but the situations still make you laugh even while people are being eaten. Gallows humor at its finest.

I'm testing the waters, so to speak... -- If this doesn't blow up in my face, I'll add a few more 'opinion' pieces. On pets: -- I have three younger brothers. To deal with them I followed the instructions from a Puppy Training manual. They adore me to this day, and are very obedient.
