You can still have a comedic story with serious narration. That’s what I’ve been trying to do recently with that dark fantasy story I was told to write. No fourth wall breaks, no self awareness, the source of all the comedy being the world and character interactions.

Don’t force yourself. It’s true some tags are more popular, but it will only hurt you in the long run if you compromise on your vision and write something you don’t personally enjoy
