    Questions to ask before marriage

Why the fuck are we doing this in the first place? A lot of younger couples get married just to get married... and a few months later, they realize they never really wanted it...

Chaotic enby thoughts: Character pov switch thought for multiple MC'S

In general, seven or less is the maximum amount of data a person can memorize and keep at once. Introducing so many people at once will lead to all of them turning into a giant mush. This is also the reason why most stories only have a handful of ongoing side-plots at once, because at some...

    Farewell Note

Completed novels must contain 45,000 words minimum to 190,000 words maximum. No re-posts, rewrites, spin-offs, fanfics, collaborations, or plagiarism. The novel must be entirely your own original work created for this contest and posted only to Honeyfeed for the duration of the contest. So...

How did you find your covers?

I don't actively look for covers but rather use artstation or deviantart to look on art, when I have a few free moments. Just scrolling through and saving nice looking ones. And when I'm in a need for a cover, I'll look through it and either find ideas for a new one or an image I might use after...

    Question

You can make money directly on webnovel. There are also some sites who let you hide your chapters so that people need to buy them. That said, the better route for most webnovel authors is to publish for free on as many sites as possible and open a patreon for advanced chapters or other stuff...

What is more important, plot or character?

I picked Plot. Plot is the sum of the characters' actions, so a great plot automatically has at least good characters. While great characters with bad plot will just make for a boring mess. So yeah, I cheated and picked both, but I hide behind that reasoning xD

    Sunset's Art Thread?

Four/five volumes in isn't really that hastily cancelled. If you look at the western market, you'll often get that after 2 or 3. And a lot also get dropped before the first one was published. It happens a lot with the more mediocre stuff. Eastern light novels publishing is mostly "throw things...

    Sunset's Art Thread?

Not really a fan of the teacher-trope most of the time... But yeah, then you hit all the boxes for a six novel long light novel series that gets a hasty ending after it was cancelled during volume 5 :D (that said, I still didn't find the time to read your story... *sigh*)

    Sunset's Art Thread?

You have two bigger ones. But going by the standard, you are missing the "massive one"... :ROFLMAO:

    Boost the number of readers

Guess your readers' timezone. That said... at some point regular chapters become more important than posting time.

What happened to elite warrior in highschool of the dead?

You can't delete novels on webnovel, but it has all chapters removed and a "dropped" added to the title. So I guess, the author just purged the novel from the internet as best as they could.

We need small limits on the rating system for the sake of new stories

Though the 1 star ratings people complain about often happen, because a story is in the spotlight. So it's mostly novels already trending with an overwhelming amount of new 5 stars and 1 or 2 low ratings to balance it out. Even with new stories, the ratings on the site are overwhelmingly...

We need small limits on the rating system for the sake of new stories

I mean votings aren't about the quality of the story but whether a reader liked it or not. An overwhelming amount of ratings is five stars from people who enjoyed the story. It doesn't say anything about the actual quality of the novel itself. It says, something liked it and want to support it...

We need small limits on the rating system for the sake of new stories

Changing it into a simple up-downvote would fix it. Or at least it would be honest and we wouldn't discuss about all the other pretend-stuff... ---------------------------------- Also... let's let the users only vote after they gave the story a proper chance is really condescending. When a...

How far is taking liberties with your premise acceptable

Your tags, synopsis, genres, title, etc are a promise to your reader. Changing a story midway will break that promise so you might get a lot of backlash depending on how you do it. Communicating or "easing in" should be used to minimize the backlash. But yeah, if you break your promise, 1stars...

For those authors with a fear of failure

There often are (especially newer) authors who have problems writing and publishing because they fear possible failures and the readers' reaction. So for those, just look at this: This is Amazon, a multi-billion company buying advertisements from the other multi-billion company youtube/google...
