It doesn't really matter. Use what you want. The only reason why I use dark anyway is coz light mode literally gives me a migraine. Black text on white background hurts my eyes too much. I skip stories from sites without dark mode coz I can't read them due to health reasons.

Why? How many chapters have you had out? Personally, if it's a major key point in the plot, I think you might screw yourself over if you change/add too much. On the other hand, if you have a lot of chapters out already, then you really have to think about your decision. If you're adding stuff...

I don't think it's smart to rely on an excerpt kind of synopsis. However, if you are going that route, you need to give more information. There are so many tips online and from those, I could honestly say that your samples of excerpts don't have good 'hooks.' Here's a random tip about a book...

I hate flashbacks. It's a narrative I do not care for. It's fine if it's told as a story within a story...but to actually show chapter after chapter of the past...I feel like I'm wasting my time.
