    Military Stories Question

I'm sure whatever military stories are on this site are filled with cat-girls and wizards. But if you like Badass-Bounty Hunters, who use two-man-tactics, wield Battle Rifles (MSR-10, SCAR 17, Glocks, M24, and a Mossberg 590A1 Shotgun) and get into wild-shoot outs, then read THE VILLAINOUS LEE TWINS

As a reader, what do you find best in a novel?

Hey, different strokes. Also...i think I'm more biased towards the dialog thing as a filmmaker. I guess in novels it probably doesn't play the same way as seeing a damn good actor just deliver lines with wit and poise. I'm a trained filmmaker with no money, therefore I write novels. Parasite...

As a reader, what do you find best in a novel?

Everything that makes a novel good. HOWEVER MY FELLOW AUTHORS will agree with me, when a story. (novel, manga, movie, etc) has that GOD-TIER-LEVEL flow of DIALOG. The witty kind, that gives insight into a character, while simultaneously providing exposition. And I'm talking the kind of...

    Writing pacing sentences

I'm going to tell you a secret that none of these people are telling you: You can start a sentence with the conjunctions "And and But" Therefore, you can break all of those ridiculous sentences down into smaller sentences. And if you need examples just read my story. If you don't believe me...

    Do you read your webnovels?

When I'm writing a novel, I will read it an un-countable amount of times. Afterwards, maybe once a year I may skim through it. But if I look too hard I will just wind up editing it more, instead of enjoying it.

    Learning How To Write

@Sylvie Listen! The writing prompts are wonderful. but heed my advice. Write your first story about the interaction between two (or more) people. (maybe one has a crush on another). The point is, make it so that whatever the conflict is, it's a personal one between people. AND I PROMISE YOU, it...

    Clothing in a scene

Many of my characters dress nice as an expression of who they are. So yeah, I describe clothing. HOWEVER, the descriptions are not overboard- EXAMPLES: 1. You’re the best, Ma. Sabrina thought, as she tried-on a cute dark-blue pantsuit for the trip to Ft. Karns today. 2. “I beg your pardon?”...

Characters are used to represent different aspects of the same thing

Man, characters are plot devices. They're placed in the story to either be an obstacle, provide information to the MC (and reader), or to be loved by the MC. The depth of the character's motivations depends on his or her function in the story, and/or on the whims of the author.

    What's a good start for a prologue

Not at all. You are doing the same thing every beginning writer does (I did it too). You first start writing you think information is important as the story. It's not, the background is a setting. But sometimes it really takes a minute to get through to people that it's really about showing not...

    What's a good start for a prologue

Bro, no. that's the cart before the horse. But this what you do: "Description in Action." Describe things only when people interact with things, or notice them. The story comes first. so only describe the world as the character interacts with it. If you want to info dump, or set a scene ...

    What's a good start for a prologue

Because you didn't start them with a story you started by listing things that they didn't need to know at all. Readers are not here to read about your world. they're here for a story.

    What's a good start for a prologue

You don't need a prologue The story starts on chapter one, page one. I'm not kidding. No one's interested in the lore of your luscious world. They are interested in a story. So get to the story, get to the stakes of the MC's predicament immediately. Prologue equals you're trying to pre-tell...
