What is more important, plot or character?

Characters most definitely, at least when it comes to novels. Actually scratch that, even in combat-oriented manga like Records of Ragnarok the characters are still lively. A well-executed plot is dependent on well-written characters anyways. Your story can literally be about a dystopian society...

Ah, since it's spooktober now I should change my pfp to fit the festive mood. I think this one should do good.

Reader preferences on dark elves' looks?

I care more about the lore behind them tbh. Dark elves can look the exact same as elves and I wouldn't mind as long as there's a good reason for it.

Would a high fantasy magic world have similar capabilities to modern tech?

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. I meant a magic society that produces things similar to modern tech, not straight up replicating it. Like making a chimera for public transport or magic reinforcement to make buildings structurally stronger. I don't think it would progress the same way as...

Would a high fantasy magic world have similar capabilities to modern tech?

Military, Industry, Agriculture etc... Well, fantasy is obviously meant to be fantastical, so I get why a mediaval setting is perfect for this. But what if a magical society attempted to use magic for things other than blasting the heads off of goblins and dragons? This is assuming all the bells...

Factors that influence the outcome of a fight, in rank order.

Popcorn! Get your popcorn while it's still hot! You know, I kind of feel bad for tropic_panda here. He actually has a point, but he's reluctant to provide even a simple link. There's a saying in my country, something about fishing and getting at least one, but too lazy to translate. So I'm...

Do you prefer to Read, Write, or Plot stories? Why?

Tbh, I love plotting (or as Jemini pointed out "conceptualizing") parts of my story. I mean my current story is basically already plotted out from the current arc to the end, minus some minor details. I even decided to dump some of the lore I had during my hiatus(wait, I'm still in one?)

    Eye bleaching for regret

I know there's a two word catchphrase you can search to get the content you want. I think that's the source of the anime girl machine thing(and many more), and also shows [REDACTED] depictions of the things you mentioned. I completely forgot about it tho, I'll edit if I ever remember. People be...

    Eye bleaching for regret

Well yeah i've seen it. Its kind of like psychological horror, its beautiful but it can be pretty terrifying. Besides necrophilia, I hate that shit to my very core.(I deleted necromancers from existence in all of my stories, and undead beings such as liches too. Strangely I don't mind eldritch...

    Eye bleaching for regret

Guro is not my cup of tea, but I don't think its that bad. I mean in a way I kind of write it? Been trying hard not to though since I don't want to have to add the gore tag.

    Ideas

Well I just came up with this after watching a yt vid Idea title: The dragon's revenge. There was once a silver dragon who lived deep within the earth, guarding her bountiful treasure hoard. Every so often, some adventurers attempted to challenge the dragon, but every time there was always a...

I'm a reader of my own story. How did that happen?

It's not strange at all. A lot of authors have their own story on their reading list.

Factors that influence the outcome of a fight, in rank order.

Feints and red herrings fall under the skill of combatants. Intimidation is hard to do if you're on a one-on-one with some guy you don't know. Attrition is taking advantage of the opponent's/your own physical condition and athleticism Even with strategy you would have to factor in this ranking...

Factors that influence the outcome of a fight, in rank order.

Actually, traps would fall under terrain advantage. If you could lure them into an ambush and aren't fighting in an open plain, well then that's great! But in that case you wouldn't really need that speed advantage.

Sorry, laws in my country say you can't legally smite me. If you do I'll sue you at my funeral.

Welp, I may as well use this place to rant. Been writing a story where the MC's name continuously changes depending on who he's talking to, I wonder if I should refer to them by "Nameless Traveler" in the synopsis or I should just make her name keep on changing XD.
