Today I started to outline my story

I had the opposite problem. I‘d outline too much, I’d know everything that would happen in the story start to finish, and because of that I had no motivation to write the actual chapters

    Best pov for fantasy novels?

In a 3rd person limited the narrator only narrates the thoughts and perceptions of the pov character. So despite being third person information is limited to that of the pov character In an omniscient the narrator narrates the thoughts and perceptions of all characters.

    Best pov for fantasy novels?

No it basically means multiple different third person limited POVs for different characters. If you’ve read then the Song of ice and fire books are famous examples of it.

    First versus third person POV

Personally I’m a big fan of third person limited, that being said there is no rule saying you need to stick with 1 single perspective type. It’s pretty common to have a story that does 1st person pov for the protagonist pov, and 3rd person for other character pov

Which do you prefer Manga, Anime or Light Novel?

Same. For me reading manga and novels is just so much faster than watching anime, and since most anime are manga or light novel adaptations I can consume more content overall.

Sick and tired of shadowy organizations

I wasn’t really trying to use the example as an overall example of villains and motives, just to point out how there can be more to a shadowy organization than demon cultists. An example of how the troupe can be used for something as unique as ‘disgruntled tradie pirates’. Like just look at...

Sick and tired of shadowy organizations

It feels like every time I read a new fantasy story, the antagonists are always some shadowy evil organization. It feels beyond over played at this point. And it’s always like something to do with demons, or cultists or demon worshipers. I’ve seen a couple stories that diverge from the demon...

I’ve seen this plot a couple of times, but the korean Isekai‘s into a dungeons invade earth video game, set in Korea must be the most pointless genre out there. Literally nothing changes, except the author pretty much admitting they are too stupid to write an mc who doesn’t hav clairvoyance

If you could play a game for the first time again what would you choose?

Project wingman. I don’t play many story driven games. Most games I play I play to collect things and level up abilities, so to wipe all that progress would just be annoying. I used to play more story driven games in the past, and while they were good at the time, I doubt Skyrim would hit the...

    The Beauty of Incomplete Stories

Ngl, I often only read ongoing stories. There’s something I like about not know the ending, I’ve been burned so many times by stories that drop the ball right at the end. I’ve said this before on the forums, but if I read a story that writes a good conclusion, even if it’s not the end of the...

So, You Lot Were Ever Like This When Invested in a Story?

If I read a cliff hanger right before bed, sometimes if I’m really invested it will make it hard to sleep. That’s about as invested I’ll get emotionally. Unless I’m rewatching Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket in which case I’ll cry my eyes out

Pretty much the only European in China, so there is a big potential for different stories to tell. In the story in my mind, he doesn’t just catalog wildlife and trade routes, but he also goes to different sects and catalogs the different martial arts, all the while using European more knightly...

Had another similar murim story idea, where the mc leaves west Asia. A murim story where the mc goes across the Silk Road in Parthia and follows it Europe. Martial Master ends up fighting the Byzantines or like knights in Europe.
