Was gonna do the prompt but I can't enter the forums.
I'd say only two of my protagonists are people you could call untalented with all other protagonists being either incredibly talented or incredibly lucky. Still, all eight have terrible personality flaws that inconvenience them a lot throughout their stories. I find when character growth is the goal it's more beneficial to make them not underdogs.
