I've lived in Boston, NYC (Brooklyn) and (Chicago)

1. Boston. It has that nice slow feel. More relaxing but a ton to do. Easier to get to nature.
2. Nyc. It has everything all the time. But, Brooklyn has a nice vibe. Great food from every culture.
3. Chicago. Also a ton to do. Lake Michigan is beautiful. Fantastic world class restaurants. Also good public transit. Very bike friendly.
