This probably shouldn't be in story feedback, but if it's about writing, I wish they would say, "your story inspired me to start writing." Or something like, "your writing is my favorite." Both have already happened before, but I am greedy. I want them to happen again.

We can't expect anything from people who don't know us. However, generally speaking, if you're polite and friendly, people will naturally respect you. But this is more a social expectation than an individual one.

That makes sense. I was thinking less about expectation and more about the kind of sentence that would feel nice to read, even hypothetically.

That’s honestly such a good answer. Hearing that your writing mattered to someone never really stops feeling special.
