Commentary on rule #3174: ideally housing should not be seen as an individuals FINANCIAL investment, and instead a social investment in a place to live and take care of. Unfortunately too many people currently have their wealth tied to housing, breaking that ideal. In transition we can supply basic public housing, I.E. Vienna while creating measures to bring us closer to the ideal.
Commentary on rule #3172: It is much more achievable & sustainable to guarantee basic public housing than to modify the current system to be more fair. Although either is a massive improvement. Current end on rule commentary.
Commentary on rule #3171: Just because there are a rare few rare examples of people who refuse to work to survive, doesn’t mean basic housing shouldn’t be guaranteed. That is a false equivalence, cut such people out of your life and they will suffer enough on just the basics. With guaranteed housing such people will also be less of a drain on public recourses.
Commentary on rule #3170: Such people are either 5 years old, special needs, or made up. There is no reason not to guarantee housing, when the lack of housing makes employment near impossible and winter practically impossible to survive without assistance.
Commentary on rule #3169: A truly fair environment would guarantee basic housing for all who inhabit it. There should be no reason for a person to go without shelter, other than that person deciding not to. Lack of housing is inherently unfair.
Commentary on rule #3168: This rule mistakenly believes that allowing people to suffer indiscriminately creates strength. No it creates scars and wounds that few can recover from. Only a wounded and dying nation would let its citizens die to ensure the profits of the wealthy. -
