With my morning exercise over, it seemed that Isaac ended up following after me with my watch in his hand.
"Ah...How did I not realise..? Thank you for bringing it to me." I said with a grateful smile while slipping the watch back on my wrist. He waved his hand in front of him dismissively, before saying it was no problem. He then wiped the sweat from the back of his neck and face with the towel in his other hand.
"I'll see you later, then." I said, before waving at him and heading back to the dorm. He said something about escorting me there but I didn't think it was necessary. "No, it's okay. You'll need to get back to your own dorm before the meeting, won't you?"
He gave a wry smile before laughing awkwardly and nodding. He said he was looking forward to seeing me at the meeting before parting company. Once I was back at the dorm, I had my shower, applied ointment and moisturiser to my muscles, then got dressed. Checking my appearance was befitting a Student Council President, I took the now clean handkerchief that Isaac had lent me from the fresh laundry and headed for the Student Council room for the morning meeting.
Meeting Isaac - the Secretary- along with the other members outside the room, we all headed in and started the daily meeting but not before I handed Isaac's handkerchief back. He gave a wry smile before taking it and sitting down. The Treasurer mentioned how he needed Lisette to fill a form in before he could proceed any further on his end of things, which surprised me because I thought the First Year would have done that yesterday. "How odd...Well, perhaps she was simply overwhelmed by everything and forgot." I thought, before continuing on with the next topic.
Once the meeting was over, we all set about going on our patrol routes. At least, that's what should have happened, only the Vice-President insisted we go in pairs due to the suggestion of the Student Council Adviser who came in to inform us that Elizabeth's assailant had still not been found. The Secretary said it would be ideal to have male/female pairs, to which Lady Fitrani agreed before pointing at me and him. She then stated in a matter-of-fact manner that we should go together since we had classes in the same area afterwards.
"If you think so, I have no problems with such a set-up. How about you, Isaac?" Before I could even turn to look at him for his answer, he had already given a fast reply in the affirmative. I could have sworn I heard the other council members chuckle, and so I joined in while thinking, "I suppose it is a bit funny to be so eager to patrol." Completely missing the real reason why they all thought it was funny. I saw Isaac smile wryly before noticing the Treasurer pat his back and mutter something to him about there being no rush.
With that, Isaac and I left for our patrol route while the others went on theirs.
"Lisette and Alba seem like such cute underclassmen, don't they?" I asked while stretching a bit to loosen my tired muscles from the workout. I didn't get an immediate reply from Isaac and so paused mid-stretch to see him staring at me with flushed cheeks. "Isaac?" He seemed to come out of whatever was happening and he smiled awkwardly before saying he preferred the beauties in our year, before turning his head away from me. "Oh?" I looked in the direction he turned to, to see an entourage of noble girls from our year walking in the opposite corridor. "I suppose there are a lot of beautiful girls among the nobles. I think Lady Fitrani is the prettiest, though." I said with a smile.
I think I heard him mutter something about knowing someone prettier but I didn't quite catch who he was talking about when a noble girl from Second Year strode over to me and slapped me on the cheek. "....Ah?" Before I could process what was happening, I saw Isaac having grabbed the girl's wrist and growling the question of why she hit me. As I pressed my hand to my burning cheek, I noticed tears begin streaming down the girl's cheeks. It was then that I heard her mention about me trying to steal her fiance from her.
"Come again?" I tried to think of any time that I had done such a thing, only to draw a blank. It was then that Isaac said she was mistaken and that her fiance had only asked me out for lunch to which I declined. "Oh, is this about yesterday? But...when did I try to steal him from her?" I fear I was showing utter confusion over this as the girl looked me over a few times before pulling her wrist away from Isaac's grip and ran away.
"Ah..."
I was about to go after her but felt Isaac gently grabbing my arm and pulling me to face him before brushing his hand across my still burning cheek. I could see rage in his blue-green eyes as he traced his fingers on the hand-print on my cheek. I heard him mutter a healing spell that soothed the pain, before he looked in the direction the girl had run off to. He muttered something about making sure to have this matter sorted while tightening his grip on my arm.
"Isaac...you're hurting me." I said with a wry smile.
He immediately released me and apologised before awkwardly smiling and saying we should continue the patrol. I nodded and we resumed our patrol. The only problem was that I noticed several girls shy away from us whenever they got close. It wasn't until near the end of the patrol that I realised Isaac had been glaring at anyone who came near. "...Isaac, you are being impolite to innocent parties." I showed my disapproval before looking at my watch. "Classes will be starting soon. I'll see you later." I then walked on ahead to my next class a few minutes before the bell would go. I didn't hear Isaac react but I was in a bad mood, so I didn't bother checking how he was.
I suppose it was ironic that my first class of the day was to do with social etiquette. "I wonder if the teacher will enlighten me on whatever social faux pas I did was..." I thought as we all curtsied towards the teacher as she entered the classroom.
[OOC: Sorry for the long post, I got carried away.]
