You can say that but it doesn't come across as even remotely thought out. It just sounds like frustration put into words. There's no introspection put into it at all. Don't treat this forum like it's your diary and us like your crowd of affirmative Yesmen™.

But ranting is good. Anger and frustration have to go somewhere, otherwise they will destroy you. :blob_reach: In the past you could sign up and shoot some commies. Today not so much anymore.

I thought forums are supposed to open anyone's thoughts, arguments, and anything else regarding the concerning topic. I'm not saying like this is my diary... in fact, this is an OPINION as I have titled it. No matter how it sounds vague on my text, that is just my subjective message....

Regardless, that is how forum works... considered this as your enlightenment.

you could join a rally and burn some buildings. not that I commend it but it's infinitely better than making an ass about yourself on the internet and act like a high horse about it

yes, I have put the title as something else. it means it's now something else entirely. it's not murder if I call it "consensual asphyxiation". "subjective message" my ass. a message is supposed to bring out a point. this is just a plain old 'i don't like writing contests because I don't understand the point of it besides getting recognition and a prize'. if that's all you're writing for; fame and fortune, then it's all to you. i can't take that away from you. but to sit there and suggest that a writing competition is nothing more than a "who's better and who's trash" in its entirety without even giving recognition to how much it helps to the common author is something that can't be called an OPINION. it's more like a RANT *BECAUSE I DIDN'T GET ENOUGH VIEWS ON MY SUBMISSION ON THE ADVENTUM CONTEST

Well, Daisuke is from the Philippines. So going around and burning down buildings is not a good idea. You really don't want to land in a Philippine prison. Especially since Duterte. :blob_reach: Consider that, Beni.

Ah, my mistake. I always assume everyone's from default burgerland unless stated or I could safely assume otherwise.

yeah, maybe not that.

weed the backyard? listen to Merzbow - Woodpecker No. 1 (Official Remastered Audio)?

seems more productive than... whatever daisuke typed out

No problem, same here. Everyone is from glorious Burgerland reigned by Burger King.

But even in the states, the prison system sucks big time. Like really big time. They are not as terrible as South East Asia, but in terms of how inmates are treated, the US are pretty much on the low end in the West. Not much better than the Russians.

And hope that you aren't black.:blob_reach:

yeah, the us prison system is not exactly a high bar, but as for the third statement, I disagree, but that's just about what I would say on the matter. i won't discuss it further. I'm just gonna keep it at that.

Should I ask an ex-inmate I know about that matter? About brutality in US prisons. After all, many of the former state prisons are in private hand by now. :blob_evil_two: So do you think black people will be treated nicely down there in Texas?

This time, BenBen gets frustrated enough to actually argue semantics with a minor.

Hmm, which is worse? Getting trolled by deliberately misused genres or not really getting anywhere after making the effort of deciphering, err, something about writing or contests or something else ... probably?

... this tagline is for sale.

Look, I said what I said. I don't want to discuss any further. Besides, I live halfway across the world. What I think won't make a lick of a difference regardless.

At this point I'm willing to take both.

Nobody said that you must make a difference or that we have to moralise. :blob_evil_two:

In its basis, this is a very scientific question, not an ethical question.

Like does water boil at 100 degree Celsius? Yes, or no.

So is being black a disadvantage when it comes to the US prison system?

Yes, or no. You said no, right?

I don't know, what is the universal measurement of disadvantage in a scientific perspective? If you mean a peaceful black person being more likely to face unwarranted violence in jail than a white person as a sense of disadvantage, then yes, they are. Without accounting any outside factor, that will be the case.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

To me, writing contests are mainly good for new authors~

Like, people that want an incentive to start their first story... A contest might be just what they needed to give it a shot~

For established authors or at least authors with some experience, the contest doesn't amount to much IMO.

I dig the motivation to write daily. I know I won't win but just holding my own in the top ten recently was a blast. Pushing yourself to do something is always great.

i don't really care about winning tbh, just want to take a new challenge to freshen things up.

for adventum, i just want to write 40k before the contest ends and to put my name up there. even if it's just participating, it's enough for me :D
You're not alone my friend (sorry if I am assuming that we're friends already) for me, writing 40k words in just 3 months is challenging because my friend named "procrastination" visits me and I can't write anything.

This is all related to what is your intention before joining the contest.

I don't know about this contest before @Nanakawaichan told me about it on my alternate account.

My intention in joining this contest was to do some kind of experiment. I write two stories with a completely different concept and genre and put it in one clean 'new account' and another one 'old account'.

And I was perplexed with the difference. Maybe because they know I was a writer of 3.7 Star Rating story in the old account ..., that story didn't get much of viewership. But in the new account, I got a much better view and now in the top ten.

But, meh I self-conclude this matter based on the statistic. Probably it was because one of my writing sucks while the other is somewhat decent. I don't know.

And I totally agree that
'i don't like writing contests because I don't understand the point of it besides getting recognition and a prize'.
this is somewhat direct. I mean ..., why do football teams enter a championship, if not for the prize and fame? There's no other point for a contest to be held asides from that ..., it's to encourage people to do this, and find who's the one is better than the rest.

it's my main issue as well.

sometimes it's hard to get motivated.

i got motivated the most when i'm horny and write horny things, but it also made me want to sleep, which made me stop writing rather fast.

though if i got really horny when i sleep, i usually have a good dream, though it also made me woke up later even though i slept much earlier.
