Lets say the backrooms were freely accessible from certain locations.

Would you live there? If the rent was say. 25 USD a month.
- You have water and electricity
-The decor and lighting is always some shade of yellow or fluorescent
-Occasionally your apartment might have an extra door. Or maybe a hallway. Leading to gods knows where.
-You kay hear strange noises from the rest of the backrooms, beyond your apartment

Tempting as $25/month in rent might be, I don't think I'd be able to live in the backrooms because I'm reasonably convinced I would die.

I'm an asthmatic, and the entities would make quick work of me.

Landlord says the last tenants in your unit had to move overseas unfortunately.

But since there's infinite space more units are always being built! It seems to be popular for short term leases since the turnover is fast though...

Hell, I own my place and still have to pay 298 a month for lot fees right now... before then when I rented I would have to pay 1200- 3000 a month for a place depending where I was living at the time.

25 a month and the only catch is mysterious doors and strange noises. Thats just my current apartment except I pay 50 times more for it. At least in the backrooms the landlord is honest about the horrors instead of hiding them in the lease agreement.
I would move in. Set up my desk in the corner. Write chapters. If something crawls out of the extra hallway I would just add it as a character in my story. Free inspiration and cheap rent. Thats a deal.
