This has been my most anticipated game for the past couple years, and it's finally coming out next Thursday! Somebody pinch me to make sure I'm not dreaming, and bring a mallet just in case I am.

Given that Denuvo got obliterated by the pirating community. Sure, I'll give it a try.

So...it's been a long time since I've had feelings for a game as complicated as I'm having right now for Crimson Desert. On the one hand, it's easily the most ambitious game to come out in years. The devs are trying to do so many different things that just that by itself is worthy of admiration.

On the other hand, that makes the game so full of absolutely unnecessary crap that you actually have to dig to find the game buried underneath that's actually worth playing. Case in point: you have a whole arsenal of medieval weapons to choose from, each with their own movesets and attack/dodge/parry mechanics, but for some reason they decided the game needed a full suite of pro wrestling moves too. There are so many things you can do that simple actions require button combinations like "L1 + R1 simultaneously, release L1 while still holding R1, then press L1 again." The worst part is that most of those things are so inconsequential that you can probably go through the whole game without ever using them and not feel like you've missed anything.

TLDR: good game, but only if you're willing to put in the hours (yes, hours) of learning how to play it optimally.

I thought this was gonna be an MMO and was disappointed that it wasn't. It looks really cool, but I'm not interested in the PC.

The problem with the game is that it was intended to be an MMO, then changed with development. A lot of garbage, low-effort quests left.

Anyway, this is still one of the best games released in a while. Definitely worth playing, but not having something as basic as a storage chest is a fucking joke.

It came out 3 days ago.

Dragon's Dogma combat, Legend of Zelda puzzles, and Red Dead Redemption level of immersion/simulation. It would have been a massive hit, but every single reviewer talks about how janky the devs made the controls on both controller the keyboard.

Play the prequel. It's called Black Desert Online.

I agree, but the game has had patch/updates every day since release. They already promised to fix the storage issue; just wait a bit before buying, and you'll get the quality of life features.

Ah, it seems to have been added with the Day 1 Patch.
Scratch that. You can't put anything into that chest. Any loot you miss while you're out adventuring gets teleported there, but you can't move anything from your inventory to the chest.

Like I said, the retarded devs heard the complaints and have spoken up to the fact that they'll fix it eventually.

Daily patches in the 3 days its been out.

Even after a solid 25 hours of play, the game is a solid meh.

Its slightly better than an open world ubisoft game, but it just... it just falls flat on its face in far too many fields to be considered a good game.

It tried to be ambitious, but didnt really follow through well enough. I can fire up Where Winds Meet for something similarly ambitious and play for free and have even more fun.

I watched gameplay, and it looks like something I can live without. I didn't even like Witcher 3 because combat. So this game is not for me.

I also think it's not worth the $70 asking price from the problems I saw.

I've played it. I was a founder, actually! Dropped it a while back since it wasn't really much of an MMO. Not many activities to do with friends unless you've got a whole guild of 'em.
then play it on console.
PC as in player character! Also played BDO, I was a founder.

No single player game is. I usually wait 4-8 years where I can snatch it for less than $15. My less patient friends just pirate games.
