I definitely don't mind enforcing the ban on translations, especially if its been a site-wide rule since day 1, but I do worry about how the enforcement has been rolled out.

I'm not a translator of any sort, every word I've posted on this website or any other website has been written by me. And yet, I still had a story that is NOT a translation hidden this morning.

But I wasn't given any sort of official message from the website that it was hidden, I had to be told by my readers. Luckily I have a large audience on this website, so I was informed within hours, but I worry about how many smaller writers have had stories that are NOT translations hidden by the purge today who won't even know why they're suddenly not getting any reader growth going forward.

Mentioning this to my writer colleagues in another Discord and one of them also found that one of their stories that is NOT a translation was hidden on the site today, something they wouldn't have known if I hadn't told them they needed to check.

Both of us have sent in emails through the proper channels to get the issue resolved and I have high hopes from what others have said that it will indeed be fixed for us soon, but I'm nevertheless concerned about how many other writers who are not translators are out there getting their stories shadow banned because of false positives like what me and my friend are currently dealing with.

TL;DR: There probably should have been some sort of automated official alert sent out with the removal of every translation just so those of us who do not post translations but had stories erroneously removed in this purge anyways can at least know and contact the website admins about it.
There are unfortunately some strays. However, every author who is not a translator can email Tony and he will fix it. There is also a thing that Tony might've deleted novels that were too smutty, since it's against the rules as well. This part I have no idea what happened and pulled it ouf of my ass. Anyway, the best course of action is to email Tony if you are an author of original.

That was the 50% smut rule that hit you~. :meowsip: Not the translation one~. Considering that you have got an incest tag ...

Original:
(This popped out from the newest novels list, so I can say that the purge happened on the works that were reported before, not on those who were on review. Not disclosing TL is still a problem.)

OG:
(Not disclosing it's TL, but the patterns of CN synopsis + a lot of patreon chapters give it out. Found it by mindlessly browsing next page trying to find TL I forgot the name of that apparently got delisted.)

I did a cursory glance right now, and didn't see any TL for 40 webnovels straight (~2 pages). I can say this is a great progress of clearing out TLs. Sure, there could be other not disclosed translations disguised as "original", but currently I don't see any besides two above.

God yall are such pansies only reason to even be on this site was the translations and the easy formatting, literally my entire reading list was wiped out except for like two stories. Definitely won’t be returning

How can you hurt my feelings like this? What if I develop trauma because of it? I think you should apologize to me right now and kowtow a hundred times.

Incorrect. The story in question "Invader Syndrome" that was removed from my account has zero incest in it (otherwise it wouldn't be allowed on Patreon) and also is more plot than smut.

The Prohibited Content specifically says "No 'Porn without Plot' stories" (so no 100% porn stories) and then goes on to specifically state that smutty chapters and 50/50 plot/porn stories are perfectly acceptable.

Invader Syndrome, the story that was randomly removed from my account this morning, is not Porn without Plot and in fact has more plot than porn in it. Out of 36 chapters posted to Scribble Hub so far, less than half are smutty.

:meowsip: Are we truly arguing about the merit of porn here?

I mean, if I'm not allowed on this website because I have sex scenes in my works, then that'd be one thing, but as far as I know my body of work is explicitly allowed on this website under the current rules.

And given only one of 35 stories was taken down this morning, I have to assume it was taken down accidentally in the translation purge, not because it has some sex scenes scattered throughout it lol.

So yes, when you tell me that my story was removed for breaking a rule it did not break instead of breaking another rule it did not break, I'm going to disagree with you.

I'm glad I'm not a hentai gooner that either reads 50 shades of gray material or writes/translates it.
Enjoying the lack of issues I'm not facing.

If you can't read the rules, too bad so sad.
