I definitely don't mind enforcing the ban on translations, especially if its been a site-wide rule since day 1, but I do worry about how the enforcement has been rolled out.
I'm not a translator of any sort, every word I've posted on this website or any other website has been written by me. And yet, I still had a story that is NOT a translation hidden this morning.
But I wasn't given any sort of official message from the website that it was hidden, I had to be told by my readers. Luckily I have a large audience on this website, so I was informed within hours, but I worry about how many smaller writers have had stories that are NOT translations hidden by the purge today who won't even know why they're suddenly not getting any reader growth going forward.
Mentioning this to my writer colleagues in another Discord and one of them also found that one of their stories that is NOT a translation was hidden on the site today, something they wouldn't have known if I hadn't told them they needed to check.
Both of us have sent in emails through the proper channels to get the issue resolved and I have high hopes from what others have said that it will indeed be fixed for us soon, but I'm nevertheless concerned about how many other writers who are not translators are out there getting their stories shadow banned because of false positives like what me and my friend are currently dealing with.
TL;DR: There probably should have been some sort of automated official alert sent out with the removal of every translation just so those of us who do not post translations but had stories erroneously removed in this purge anyways can at least know and contact the website admins about it.
