I've never been able to afford a vacation, but I really really want to go on a cruise. I'm saving up to hopefully go on a Norwegian cruise sometime later this year, probably on the Bliss or the Encore since they offer studio cabins that you won't get double charged for if you go alone. If I can plan this all out right, I'm hoping I won't have to pay much more than $1000-$1200 in total (maybe even less).

Have any of you gone on any cruises before? What cruise line/ships did you go on, and what did you think of it? Any advice I should keep in mind when planning my trip?

I didn't, as I am broke so it's far too expensive for me ?

I hope you a safe journey.

I went on one from San Francisco to Alaska one summer with my family a long time ago. (Princess cruises.) It was a lot of fun, and one of the most memorable vacations I've had. I didn't pay nor did I do any of the planning, so I can't give any advice there. But I remember picking out which excursions I wanted to do ahead of time. And iirc, if you don't get back to the ship on time, it'll leave without you. So definitely watch out for that.

If you get seasick, or worry you might, you can get special patches you stick behind your ear to help prevent that. I think my mom got a few from her doctor? I can't remember the details on those, but that's something to take into consideration.
