Hello fellow readers. I'm a dude at the ripe old age of 30 and about as religious as Ricky Gervais that likes Romance, Fantasy, Urban fantasy, and sci fi mostly. However i find myself in a bit of a pickle, i find that most of the books for the male demographic lacks romance or even a romance subplot and/or any sort of steam. Or if they have them they are harems with 15 girls with the combined character depth of a puddle, or are some sort of rpg power fantasy trash with 3 status screens per chapter. There is also the problem that if they don't tick those boxes the MMC have the backbone of a old dishrag, alternatively he is HE-MAN and can do no wrong and this is a bit sad.

Some books i have enjoyed from the male side of the fence are.

Anything by Bluefishcake he is on r/ HFY They have steam and story.

Wisher beware by snusmumriken Its got an amazing world, plot and "PLOT" for days.

The HEL Jumper also on r/ HFY I found that the romance nice and the story was good too.

Trannsmission lost By stefan c. mazzara was good but it did drop the ball with the ending.

The books for the female demographic are a bit better but then they usually have a MMC that is Chad Thundercock on the cover and those don't really appeal. Lacks a plot beyond "love triangle" or go in to some twisted dark fetish hole and doesn't even apologise " i'm scared" tried haunting Adaline and that is not me. Not that i mind smut but at least do it well.

Some books from the female side i have found i like.

The mercy Thompson series and the spin-off by Patricia briggs i fond the story after the first 4 books "when it stopped with the love triangle bit" has been great but lacking steam.

molly harpers Nice girls don't have fangs series and the werewolf "spin-off" a fun read. the ones after that are not as good.

Jeanine Frost Night huntress series was fine but its getting in to the territory of female power fantasy and the only problems end up being that the FMC does something stupid and the MMC has to come fix it And forgive her for being dumb.

The black dagger brotherhood got dropped after 2 or 3 books for being off The Chad thundercock verity.

So pleas "Suggest me a story..."

Tldr
I am asking for books that have sex scenes, and a plot that's not all romance, and lead characters aren't walking cliches.

May I recommend Monster Girls Book 1: A Tail of Tales? It seems to fit what you're looking for.

It stars an adorable sexy cat girl with a mean case of memory loss making a new life with her owner, a young farmhand named Felix. But the mystery behind her shrouded past looms over them as the last thing she remembers was that she was running from someone, and once her last catches up it puts both their lives in danger.

This story has sex, romance, magic, and action taking place in a Medieval Fantasy setting  it's an ongoing story that is updated with a new chapter Saturday's and Sunday's. Feel free to give it a read if it catches your interest, it might be what you're looking for.

I would like to recommend my story DEN.

The Deity Entertainment Network | Scribble Hub

However, I will use a comment I received today as an endorsement and not just toot my own horn

I don't know how to describe my feelings about this story. Honestly, sometimes it feels a bit silly, especially his time as principal at High School DxD. At other times, it's hilarious. Then it hits like a punching bag with moments of emotional vulnerability; I felt awful watching John have a severe Alzheimer's attack. The slice-of-life aspects are very entertaining, although they do get a little boring (not too much, really). The romance, even the part that developed a bit quickly, was very sweet, and I enjoyed it a lot. I like how the small acts of affection are detailed: the kisses on the top of the head, the caresses, the holding of hands—all of that makes it really sweet and real.

Overall, while it's not perfect, this is a very satisfying story to read, and I think it's very well-balanced in all the important aspects.
As a final note, I have an observation and a request for the author regarding the R-18 content. The observation is very simple, and it's to some extent a thank you; thank you for making the intimate scenes feel real, full of romance and other warm and positive emotions instead of just lust and depravity. The request would be for more scenes of this type, perhaps some short ones that appear more frequently and a longer, more detailed one here and there... and that's it, I don't have much more to add.

Well, unless you want full on porn, or you hate gender bender stories, you might like my story Strange Awakening (link in my sig).

 If you say so.

If you liked "Wisher Beware," have you tried the sequel, "Ecdysis?"
Yes i liked that too but i find its kind hard to find stuff of a similar sort....
Sooooooo.... not exactly male or female, but my book Amaranthine sounds like exactly what you're looking for. Futanari superheroine has adventures in life and love, plenty of sex, plenty of story, persistent love interests with an emphasis on the love. No harem, just healthy polyamory. I think you'd really enjoy it.

You can try my book, but.. lol, I've been told its 'a book'. lol

It has plenty of sexual/ graphic scenes, plenty of weird plots, and subplots, not all romance, but the mc remains pretty weak even after everything- i mean the tags are right there, but i still get complaints. :ROFLMAO: Its incredibly niche. Either, you'll like it, like certain other readers, or hate it, and won't be for you, which is 100% valid, like anything else in life.

The story is unedited (I'll rewrite it all once it's completed) since it was my first book here on SH, and I honestly wasn't expecting much, but- We're currently 72 chapters in. I'm aiming for 100 chapters, or less, but with only 2k words per chapter, the chapters are really growing.
I've been saying its coming to an end, which it is in its final stretch, but it's also been like weeks now, so, I've just stopped mentioning it. It's just word count!! I swear! :ROFLMAO: A single moment can take up an entire chapter, and I'm sitting there like "GAH but- but I wanted to also mention x y z!" and now that in itself is another chapter. Something that would only take 2 minutes irl is like "5 mOrE chAptErs DoWn tHe rOad!! HErE We gO!" etc etc. I'm ranting, but you get it. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'd recommend my other stories, but they don't have any sex scenes for you. lol they're a bit more wholesome than the first. You're welcome to check them out anyway. They're both recent; A bit on the shorter side, but they seem to be liked enough.

Gwyn wrote a smut story that many people would find interesting. It's not a bad story. However, saying that it has plenty of story besides the smut is debatable, as the story's main focus is the relationship between Lira, Cait, Kennedy, etc., and the actual superhero subplot is a very minor subplot that only serves to further the romance (think of how Grey's Anatomy barely qualifies as a doctor's show even though it has that setting). It really is mostly smut. As for the other claim, "healthy polyamory," up to the point I read (chapter 61 or 66 or whatever), there was nothing healthy about Kennedy. She's emotionally unavailable, pushing the people she claims to care about away; she's highly dependent and needy; she feels kind of manipulative in the way that her expectations for lover 1 (Lira) are way less demanding than her expectations for lover 2 (Cait, the main character of the story).

Funny thing, in volume 2, chapter 1, the author had a popularity poll, and when the Kennedy did not get a lot of votes, the poll was removed.

However, if you look at the most favorited chapters in the statistics, chapter 12 (where Kennedy gets to spend time with MC) is nowhere to be found, while the character that got snubbed (Director Swan) has the chapter she was introduced in among the top 10 favorited chapters (chapter 4). So the removed poll lives on.

I don't know anything about Gwyn's story, but it's worth pointing out that the most favorited chapters in your screenshot are chapters one through ten (though a little bit shuffled). My story is the same in that respect, except my chapter nine is replaced by chapter eleven. Most stories' top favorited are the first ten chapters, simply because they're also the ones the most people read in the first place.

Anyway, back on topic, my story might be up your alley. It doesn't tick all the boxes you laid out, but I'll take a page out of Juia_Darkcrest's book (in more ways than one) and share his review of the story here.
Excellent story, possibly one of the best ones on SH.

Smut is well written and isn't overly forced.

MC for the most part makes reasonably good choices considering the information he has.

The story itself is well written, with good continuity. So far the story hasn't been bogged down by the number of Pokémon the MC is collecting, and even the LI who are not part of the harem (yet) are getting screen time showing they have not been forgotten about.

Only bad thing about this web novel, if you can even consider it bad, is the Authour can be a bit verbose, along with using words which are not commonly used in modern English outside of of some university level writing programs. Definitely not what I expected in a smut novel, and I love it.

5 stars all day long for this.
One thing to note is that it does start as smut for the sake of smut, but as I got further in I became more and more focused on the story. By chapter fifteen it's story with smut, as opposed to smut with a story, and it remains that way.

Interesting, so favorited chapter statistics are not a good indicator. I see now. I still believe Kennedy is an awful character, one who had no redeeming qualities from chapter 12 to chapter 39 despite so much being written about her, but I understand now that the favorited chapters are not a way to prove it.

I have one writing project, I made... well, I call it a threesome relationship, that's polyamory, gotta love the internet. Got to have that college educated word for the one everyone knows what it means.
But yeah, I ended up making it... wholesome. Yeah, roll your eyes, but I either did it or got so close its the same thing.
Look, its writing. You can *design* things, to be almost impossible.
Rule time. Anything, any rule? There's an exception. There's always some odd set of circumstances, under which it makes sense and is actually the right thing to do.
stealing? Easy. your wife and kid are losing weight starving, you're an asshole if you don't try to steal a loaf of bread to feed them.
violence, is never the answer. Bullshit. A kid getting picked on for years? Hurting the other kids is the best thing ever.
murder. if something bad enough was done to your innocent little girl?
you know you either have it in you, or you wish you did.
threesome relationship? no different, just more difficult.
I designed a unique set of circumstances, where the fun thing turned out to be serious and ended up being the right thing to do.
the more intelligent and creative you are, the more experience you have writing, the more you can reach out and make the more impossible thing, possible
and make it make sense and really sell it.

My book Game Master in another world might suit what you are looking for, definitely no harem nor is the main focus romance. There are a couple of sex scenes (Optional 2 versions of same chapter), but it certainly isn't the main focus. It does have a little gender bending, not in the usual sense though for a book, nor is that a major focus, but a very slow to develop romance does develop.

If you are curious the book is in my signature.

This is a slice-of-life comedy about an overpowered dad who tackles parenting dilemmas with excessive force.

God, I need to find that fanfiction again where a waterbender waits for a guard to take a piss behind some bushes and then commits the most unholy act of waterbending imaginable.
