Let's try it again:

I try my best to aim for a character-driven story.
I took a gander and I saw elves, half-elves, dwarves, and halflings. Is this D&D-inspired~? ?

Not mine, but the only reason I visit SH is to check for updates on it. It's exactly what it says on the tin, plot wise, and I love the characters. The author is putting in work on bringing out their, well, character, lol. He also appears to have an ending in mind, which is huge points in my book. Also, there's a talking horse. Not a magic one, or anything, he just talks. The MC is the only one who finds this odd.

Admittedly I was a bit iffy on the harem+smut+ monster girls aspect, and also the “porn with plot” description you last mentioned. But I adore your personality on forums, so I’ll check it out. :blob_hug:
:blob_aww:
Bless you kind stranger for giving my story a chance :blob_salute: here, have a cookie! It's free :blob_cookie:

Also ant criticism would be welcome, Act 2 is like 10 chapters away from ending. After that, I plan on going back to Act 1 and make some edits so that it flows more naturally and ties in better with the story. Thank you so much! :blob_gift:

don't worry guys. i can confirm that she's, in fact, locked in. that's why you should totally check out her book if you haven't already. no glaze ? she just finished the first Act (about 71 bomboclat chapters for people who enjoy strong female leads, seasoned writing, fantasy, vampire zaddies romance, chair-gripping action you'd actually find in action-centered books, and characters that actually make you feel stuff. i detest Sirius with a burning passion) famished folks like me are currently camping out in the comments section waiting for our next meal :)

I concur with @goldenphonix! @pangmida's work is incredibly well-written and an absolute page-turner. Her heroine is *consistent* which is a small thing, but which I love. Character development is subtle but ongoing, though ngl you're really gonna want to burn some characters with fire :blob_catflip: (which is the sign of excellent writing). I literally accidentally binged the first 40 chapters and I too am extremely picky about what I read. Some of you may read 'vampires' and go 'been there/done that', but this is a new take with zero sparkleyskin. It gives gothic-romance-dark-vampire-horror vibes that are delicious. Story is revealed slowly with tasty, bite-sized, easily digestible world-building. Seriously go take a look! Goldenphonix and I are hooked for a reason. :blob_aww:

Well, I might as well be so bold to throw my hat in the ring.

https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1847295/aint-a-hero/

It's called "Ain't A Hero" - A science fantasy kitchen sink of ideas that I like to call a "Slice of Odd" story.

A very character driven piece, with a cast of odd folks that have taken up the call of adventuring a 1000 years into Earth's future... After magic kicked down the door to the bio/cyber-punk party... And well... It got it pretty wild. It's long after, with the familiar modern, common magic, scattered super science, and adventure just beyond the city limits. To start with you have a down and out mage school drop out that gets figuratively and literally dragged back into adventuring by his ghost-bound-to-a-sword brother and his brother's adventuring party. While trying to get back into the swing of things to eventually confront the latest Dark Lord, they still have to deal with the everyday... and the not-so-everyday aspects of life.

I lean towards a comedic take to things, pulling out the parody and satire brushes with a few cultural aspects. Also, it's heavily inspired by the adventuring epics of 90/00's anime. It's a strange post-post-apoc world, with every day folks living in the cities we'd find today, nestled between wilderness that obscures the ancient tech ruins and magical weird zones. So expect magically enhanced cell phones and adventuring theme reality TV shows and conventions.

It's just an oddball, slow burn epic, at the end of the day. Might be of interest.

Well, I try on the humor. Sometimes hit, sometimes miss. Try on the world building.
Descriptions are probably my weakest area - have trouble finding a balance between "too much" and "too little"

Probably come closest to what you are looking for in Strange Awakening
Sadly, my (I think) better work was in Between Worlds but that is now over at PocketFM, not here.

You already mentioned one other I would recommend (as your gold standard for some of this), Cameron to Candy. Another that might be worth checking out if you haven't already is I Blinked and Now I'm Famous

At the very least I'm thankful you actually read through the whole monstrous-length thread ?

I’d give you mine but I don’t know how you feel about boys love. Plus, I’m not really gonna be promoting too much of it so I don’t come off as desperate, I’ll maybe promote it when I’m done.

I have two BL books and two (reverse) harem books in my examples ? maybe you'll like the BL ones. I sure do haha.
What Comes After also has a heavy AF mood and graphic violence. I definitely don't mind that as long as it's a good story.

:blob_gift: my dyslexia read this as "I took a gander and saw Elvis, half Elvis, their wives, and halflings." I was so blown away that I really thought whoever wrote a fantasy book with Elvis as a protagonist in a D&D inspired plot was a freakin genius, I had to reread it and was disappointed that I'm just stupid.

Wouldn't that be crazy? A pop singer-inspired D&D fantasy plot. Your prestige is determined by how close you are to the singer's bloodline. :blobrofl:
