I've been cleaning out my attic and stumbled across a box of old books from when I was in highschool.
They're all warrior cats books. Not all of them, but I bought a good chunk of them and read the rest at the library near the school I went to.

So I was wondering, does anyone else still have old books they've kept for a long time?
I honestly wish I kept books I had as a kid, like the very hungry caterpillar or the rainbow fish.

Good times, good times.

I literally can't get rid of my books. Even ones I didn't particularly like. I started reading digital books when my husband objected to me shoving my collection under the couch (we had no more room). You can still purchase The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Outsiders ?‍♀️ shaped how I write male friendships. Definitely a childhood favorite.

Ive still got my childhood bookcase over at my mum's house. Chronicles of Narnia, The Animals of Farthing Wood and a really fun book of dinosaurs I somehow inherited dating from the 1950s - that one's a real treasure, it has that kind of Victorian taking of liberties with the science (think King-Kong) that you'd never get away with in a kids book nowadays :)

Like what? lol
I'm curious what other people have.

Got like all the harry potter books? goosebumps? (wish I still had those)
The 39 clues, goosebumps, classic literature like Shakespeare, the house of mirth, C.S. Lewis's Narnia and space trilogy, etc. Here's a spreadsheet with most of the books I currently own,

I also have the Warrior Cats books, the first and second cycles. I also have the complete King's Game series (the novels, not the mangas), as well as the Monster High books, Game of Thrones, and if I search in my attic, I might have Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and A Series of Unfortunate Events (I was a big fan of the Baudelaire orphans)

I have quite a few bookshelves with a lot of popular series, but my oldest books might be the leather-bound ones, I have The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and a few novels by Agatha Christy, as well as classic French litterature like Victor Hugo and Maupassant

I remember looking at some book from 1893 that is just standing on my bookshelf.

... Oh, not that kind of old. I still have all my summer reading books, because they're all from depressed Russian authors that my parents also read through.

Well yeah, you can end up losing stuff over the years, especially when moving like I have multiple times.

I have a first edition of In Cold Blood by Truman Capote sitting on my shelf. The hand feel is supreme! All my other books are much newer

I would say the oldest book I have is..
The old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway from the 1950s I found in some old, rustic hole in the wall bookstore. If not for The Moby Dick book sitting next to it from the 1910s, And the Bram Stoker Dracula next to it from 1920s; Both books I've kept from family members that have passed.

I have a small library at home. Did you throw the books into the trash after reading them?
Some people intentionally donate them to be read by others. I lend them to my friends so they can read books, and then my friends never return the books.
